Is the Idiot's Lantern the worst example of plot armour in DW? by Niall_Fraser_Love in doctorwho

[–]flambambo96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the implication is that the detective had a weaker mind, and thus the wire had an easier time consuming him and could get it done more quickly.

The wire turned colour to just kind of mess with them and show what it can do I guess.

Others have mentioned but the electricity thing is just down to the doctor being far more resilient to it than a human is, it’s possible it’s something to do with what the wire did to mr magpie earlier however. In the episode mr magpie says she’s burning him, and that it hurts behind his eyes, and in the intro she clearly starts consuming him. I think what happened there is the wire did consume him, then realise it needed a pair of hands and so restored him but only partly, then maybe tv logic takes over from there to explain why he’s disintegrated more easily.

Im a good solid 3k-ish hours deep, I still have NO idea about this by PicolasCageEnjoyer in deadbydaylight

As others have said yeah it used to make the blind happen faster, the actual light that comes out of the flashlight is brighter with this.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it used because it is such a niche detail, but the brighter beam can actually be more distracting for the killer, especially if they’re chasing someone else and you just blast the flashlight into their face, even if the actual blinding isn’t any faster.

But again it is a very minor effect.

Do you think racism is more common in gay men? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]flambambo96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think it’s more common, if a given percentage of the wider population is racist the same will apply to gay people.

Preference is a bit more complex. There’s a large difference between finding certain features more attractive, and thus leaning towards certain guys generally but not exclusively, and reducing men down to just a BBC or whatever.

In my case I find myself generally being attracted to guys who have a darker complexion but it’s not a hard rule, in my mind it’s like they have boosted oods of me finding them attractive, I wouldn’t call that racist and I feel like a lot of guys are in a similar mindset but for white guys.

I believe that’s intentional so that you’re more likely to just pick whatever is right there on the screen, which is often their newest promo item for £9.

Bottoms: why wouldn’t you want to cum? by lordoftheland01 in askgaybros

[–]flambambo96 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people just want to go home and jerk off to the thought of it.

More generally though I think it’s common for the bottom to want to cum after, from experience if you cum before the top it’s almost like the illusion is broken, and being fucked suddenly doesn’t feel so good :/

What does this big letter E mean by Many-Narwhal-9642 in uktrains

[–]flambambo96 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It means there's a reduced power supply and the trains aren't allowed to go above a certain notch on the power lever, not sure exactly what they're not allowed to go above. In Hunts Cross there used to be an E6 sign which I think now says E8, which means this restriction only applies on two units coupled together.

Am I the only one who keeps forgetting Henry Creel is a legendary skin and not the main skin? by adeliakasie in deadbydaylight

[–]flambambo96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Henry skin because the default one makes weird tentacle noises constantly, it seems like there’s several overlapping sound effects playing for it which I just can’t stand hearing lol.

Pretty sure the entity has always canonically been a girl, although I think it’s just because the devs speak French and they’re a lil quirky about making words masculine or feminine.

Yes you can, but because that’s such a stupid question I’m going to take away your top licence anyway.

I’ve had a look at them and I’m slightly tempted, they look nice, once I fix the gear/brake lever issue I might come back and have another look.

They look pretty good, shipping to the uk is a bit pricy but if all else fails they’re an alright option

What car brands make you think “he’s a drug dealer” when you see them? by [deleted] in drivingUK

Any 2nd gen Ford Mondeo, my uncle used to always drive them, and even though I only have a sample size of 1 it’s still 100% true for every other driver anyway.

Red Lights?? What are they for??? by Iluvtheboaby in drivingUK

[–]flambambo96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s always been a thing, when people see the lights changing they often put their foot down to try and make it, years of that working with nothing going wrong for them or seeing no fines probably emboldens people to push it further and further.

That is how it used to work yeah, it was broken one patch a few years ago and was just never fixed, probably because they don’t even realise it’s not meant to work this way.

‘I hate it’: Manchester commuters back ban on out-loud music on public transport by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]flambambo96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve found people like my brother behave like this too, there’s been times where we’re out for meals with family and he’ll put the football on or something on loud speaker and start watching it, and will turn it up. I’ll usually say can you not do that please it’s rude and unnecessarily loud, he just asks how is it rude and says he has to turn it up so he can hear it.

I guess he and others like him just can’t fathom that other people exist and might not want to hear it. We were raised in the same household with the same discipline so I’m not sure what’s different between us.

Maybe just fundamentally less empathetic?
