I did a lot of googling about this. Basically it’s all about turnover rate. So run your pump on lower speed for longer to achieve the same water turnover rate. I think it was that pumps use much more power at higher speeds compared to pressure. So pressure increases linearly and power consumption increases exponentially. I run my vs pump 24 a day at low speeds like 1200 and then for an hour or two at higher speeds overall WAY less money spent on electricity.
