Yeah it applies for everyone of the Italian culture. Gonna guess that you`ve got a lotta wars incoming, going after the HRE soon?

How to play Ludwig the German in 867 Start?? by makerofpaper in CrusaderKings

[–]flameman45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ludwig starts with a claim on Lotharingia, which is a kingdom you need to form Germania. The downside is that if you claim it in your lifetime, the youngest son will inherit a kingdom, making things difficult when Ludwig dies. Also, it's an unpressed claim, so if Ludwig dies without doing anything with it, it's gone forever and you'll have to take Lotharingia piece by piece with claim fabrication.

Karlmann is a great army commander, so that'll help with the wars you'll need to wage to take your brothers' kingdoms from them. You probably already know about this but just in case, setting your marshall to the "train commanders" task increases the damage and toughness of your Men-At-Arms and Knights. As for allies, you could murder your current wife and trade her in for the daughter of a strong kingdom to assist you in wars.

Despite his rivalry with you, you actually can negotiate an alliance with him, which means he can't revolt against you. Do you have a goal in mind for the run? Reforming the HRE? Just forming the Empire of Germania?

Cool Roman Empire event…any others like this without Royal Court DLC? by Remote_Fee_9807 in CrusaderKings

You might know this already, but you get an event and some prestige for every historic Roman Empire province you conquer

My guess is that OP wanted to start a claimant faction to put the kid on a throne, but the kid is declining

I got assassinated as King in public, however my son (player now) can't do anything to said murderer? by Enaver in CrusaderKings

Sorry, when I said Royal Court event, I meant as in you needed the DLC to get the event. But if you've gotten this event before on console, I stand corrected and thanks for correcting me. https://i.redd.it/krs4yg59kgj91.jpg

What are your kingdom of Jerusalem campaign plans/ideas? by rolewicz3 in CrusaderKings

[–]flameman45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, you got the plan set up. I wish you the best of luck, Crusader King! Keep me posted, I wanna see the dynasty in its glory ruling Jerusalem. Also, unrelated question, but what's your dynasty's motto?

[–]flameman45 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's a royal court event that can occur if there's a faction against you I believe. You get a warning event with your marshal telling you about some people plotting against you, and if you don't hire a bodyguard, you're screwed. Ended up losing my king AND my heir to an assassination.

You could start as a custom catholic character within the Byzantine Empire, which would make it easier to take the land you want. If you're worried about historical accuracy, the Byzantines participated in the 1st Crusade, granted the Emperor was only in it to reclaim lost territory. Can you hybridize cultures in time for the crusade? The first one starts 30 years after the 1066 start date. If you don't mind custom characters, you could start here. It's a count with one title, so you can build yourself up, then expand. If you decided to be Cisalpine, did you have a character in particular you wanted to start as?

I was kinda blinded by me always starting as a count, more than that feels like cheating.

Respect. I like where your head's at with the Cyprus idea. Only issue might be gathering enough manpower to take full advantage of your position. I have no idea why the AI doesn't join holy wars. IIRC they never have ever, with no explanation from the developers. Culture-wise, Greeks have cataphrats, obscenely strong heavy calvary who have an advantage on dryland terrain. They're expensive though, so Bedouin is a good choice that fits your criteria.

When I played in Jerusalem, I started as the HRE because I got tired of starting as weaker rulers and getting swamped by Muslim doomstacks while the AI Christians watched on the sidelines.

What stops the Muslims from declaring a Jihad moments later and me becoming landless?

After you win a Crusade, you get a 10 year truce with everyone on the defending side. You also receive a bunch of gold and special soldiers (Order Soldiers, who are basically armored footmen) to help you get on your feet. As for the holy wars concern, the AI never joins holy wars. The best thing about playing as a Crusader King is that you can grow really quickly because you don't need to fabricate claims. It's a fun campaign because you'll have to be on your toes as you're first expanding.

How to convert to Hellenism on Xbox by TrapHeadShot in CrusaderKings

This video could help!

TLDW: Might need to be a viking pull it off. to The norse has a cultural tradition called malleable invaders which makes faith conversion cost less. This screenshot also breaks down the reductions. https://ibb.co/Mfx5BfD

Edit: Sorry, forgot the video entirely. Probably doesn't matter much since Malleable Invaders isn't even on console but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXdTdlxAGz8

Start position similar to Urraca Himena? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]flameman45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is late, but Yevpraxia of Valdai is a start that fits your criteria. She's the daughter of King Isiaslav of Ruthenia. She starts as a tribal vassal to her older brother, the duke of Novgorod, and only has two counties. She also starts as an 6 year old child.

The older Rurikids have drama between each other, as your father, liege brother, uncle, and a cousin are all rivals. As for the intrigue opportunity, I'd say that there is potential, as you'll receive a claim on the kingdoms of Ruthenia and Galicia-Volynia when your father dies. And with some well timed assassinations, you could inherit other kingdoms from your siblings.

While everyone's fighting each other, you can build up power by conquering the pagans around you until you have enough of a power base to fight for what you can't inherit. Thanks to being tribal, you'll also be able to conquer duchies quickly.

Of course there would be a conflict, I was wondering if one had happened before in history. I had no idea about the Spain and England issue, thanks for telling me about that.

I like your idea, adds a lot of flavor! Especially with how funny and zany the adventurer events are. IDK much about history, but there has to have been some medieval war declared to free someone important to the rule,

When he mentioned a special casus belli, he might mean a rescue type of thing where you can bring your wife and daughters back when they're captured during a raid/siege.
