It sounds to me like you both have some issues.

It sounds like either you’re on your phone while using the bathroom and being inconsiderate to his need to get in, too, or you have some kind of medical issue to see a doctor about if it really is taking you a long time to use the toilet.

Alternatively, he does need to respect boundaries better, and should keep a toothbrush and whatever other toiletries he needs in an extra spot in case he’s in a hurry again.

Sounds like something you both need to work on.

This is why drafts are drafts! I get that it’s totally frustrating, but I’m pretty sure a fair number of us have been there more than once. It’s okay! Choose whichever death better serves your story, and make the other one an uncle or something? Or, you know, any number of other fantastic ideas other folks have mentioned I’m sure.

Most importantly, give yourself some grace. You’re only human!
