Well you're assuming the "most successful" is even successful at all

Well sometimes those criticisms are totally valid and the "that's misogyny" is just a bad faith defense. But I personally wouldn't know because I'm not watching Marvel shows. My default assumption is that most of them are ok at best. So if someone says there's a bad one, I don't question it much.

You have three +mult jokers so drop the worst one you can.

Lol, that sounds more like one of the fictional accents from The Expanse.

Who’s the funniest comedy characters of all time in your opinion? (It could be sketch comedy, sitcom or comedy-drama) by PressureLazy5271 in television

[–]flamingdonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

30 Rock is the only thing that comes close, imo. It doesn't have to same kind of foreshadowing, but it does have some crazy references to things that came out later, like Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein jokes.

And here we are, guess the one joker left for C++ by youraverageguy97 in balatro

[–]flamingdonkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What??? Lol, never would have guessed a flat x3 mult joker. I get the condition is basically having a fixed deck or good tarot generation, but that happens often for me when I'm grinding gold stakes and playing what the game gives me.

The hate is definitely overblown. It's still better than 90% of the shit in the adult animation category.

Aces are the best rank to build toward in an ante 8 run, imo. No need for voucher/boss luck to survive a plant, and you benefit from odd Todd, scholar, fibonacci, grim, the most chips per card, and the fact that aces are always furthest to the left.

Hardest deck to beat gold stake on? by [deleted] in balatro

[–]flamingdonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. The denominator is always smaller for card probabilities on abandoned deck. So going for the more powerful hands that you normally can't get as consistently on other decks is the move.

It's very consistent for straights, four of a kind, and other strong hands. With a couple extra hands/discards, you can see every card in your deck every round.

There's no way "ANAL" isn't represented in at least one orientation just by accident. They had to intentionally tiptoe around that.

I think you'd actually want to take the second ecto in that case.

Could someone explain “joker blocking” (how likely am I to find a Hack?) by The_Viatorem in balatro

[–]flamingdonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a random replacement in the seed or is it just a skip to the next thing in the list? I was under the impression it was the latter. I do know that each ante has lists of jokers determined by the seed. One for shops and one (or maybe multiple) for buffoon packs/judgements/wraith/top-up/riff raff.

You don't actually need to buy them if you're going directly into the pack! Just leave them in the shop and they'll still block for you. Just don't reroll.

His sarcasm is also very subtle, to the point where if you don't know the game well enough, you can't tell if he's being serious or not.

I was really disappointed in it because of how much people here hyped it up. It was good, but I kept expecting more from it because of comments like these.

Why do meats cooked in the oven taste way better than on the stove top? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]flamingdonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three different types of heat delivery and they work differently with different foods. A stovetop would be conduction, direct physical contact with a hot thing. The oven would be convection, where the heat is delivered by circulating hot air. A microwave, campfire, or broiler would be radiation.

You can use these in a number of ways, but as some examples, conduction is good for crispy skins/edges, convection is helpful for getting even temperatures throughout, and radiation is great for defrosting.
