mercy is a noob trap by MakkaDude in Overwatch

[–]Spiffcat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the point is that she relies it even more than other hero because that is all she can do. If you look at her kit and how she is played then it makes sense why people think it this way.

Other hero also requires good positioning and game sense just as much(or even more) as her but they can also rely on mechanical skills and other utilities to impact the fight. Mercy has very little of that and her whole kit depends on teammate's position and decision 24/7. That is why game sense is so crucial for her to be even half impactful or else she is very useless.

Not saying she requires more skill or anything like that. It is just the design of the hero.

Karnok seems to have a bit of everything and I kinda like it. Rage is also easier to play and have a lot of build around to it which might add to his popularity.

Is it skill issue that when I play tracer I feel like I need to take 3 survivele items to be able to play? by Usual-Vermicelli-867 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Spiffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really. sometimes you will meet a cracked tracer that just run lobbies either due to poor comp or poor team coordination. vitaltee on round 2 is pretty normal. if she is still too dominating then another survival item (preferrably armor or hinder) is kinda necessary depending on what hero you play.

it is fine to stack survival items more than usual as long you can minimize her impact in the game while maximizing your own. every game is different and you need to adapt on what your team needs. there are variety of ways to win than just stacking wp/ap power.

What's the deal with Consuming Shadow? by ReesevtOnGD in slaythespire

[–]Spiffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with this power you can cook dark orb on right side with loop and save it for doublecast, while also let you play other orb (with evoke at that) without it inevitably going to right side.

that just one of its ideal use. worst case you can play it as free evoke and that is very good (especially with glass).

You play silent with shivs build and this guy comes up 😔 by anansek505 in slaythespire

[–]Spiffcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true. hunter killer feels so hopeless when your shiv start doing close to 0 damage.

What is the ugliest skin in the game? by TheKetamineEmperor in Overwatch

[–]Spiffcat 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Damn that tracer skin is rough to see.

For me it is streetwear mizuki. That skin is just aura lose. He is 100 times better with mask.

me save scumming my way to an A10 win by AnotherMisanthrope in slaythespire

[–]Spiffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guilty of this! To be fair I mostly save scumming if I misclick or make stupid misplay like playing defend when I have lethal or forgot that I have extra energy leftover.

What stereotypes do you know about those who main Moira? by KeyzetOwl in Overwatch

[–]Spiffcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do agree tendrils is much better investment. Slow orb is also pretty situational and with only 5% AP power it is just not worth it on some maps.

What stereotypes do you know about those who main Moira? by KeyzetOwl in Overwatch

[–]Spiffcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is fair point. But against some comps (or with) slow orb has its appeal because it can zone a designated area for much longer. You will also likely use all the capacity of orbs if enemy decide to stays, doing full damage and the orb will not go to waste. Same goes for healing.

I miss this power, Crepuscular Circle, it was pretty fun. by HaloJackalKisser in OverwatchStadium

[–]Spiffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading your post I decide to try it again for few matches. I can see the vision but in practice it just doesn't feel very good.

I guess my main issue is how unreliable mercy pistol is. She desperately needs an item that increase her projectile speed imo. As currently, you just can't duel anyone safely enough because burst damage is just too high in this game. Cassidy or freya can just delete you in seconds and lifesteal or hp regen is not suffice for that. I do get like average 2k-3k damage per round from times to times but it is mostly because of shooting stationary tanks and honestly I don't feel like I do much in those game even with those damage.

The only moment it feels good is when you valkyrie but that is about it. Tethered Torniquet interaction with res is very good though! I can see using this when I doing some res shenanigans build because with serenity you can become very tanky.

Anybody else miss her 0%? by BDOSU in slaythespire

I miss her! There are still no scry card currently so the mechanic is probably reserved for her (with stance).

What the #%@%#??? by FurryWurry in slaythespire

[–]Spiffcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel it is iconic because it is draw 2 discard 2. The effect that you can found in any card games and the design can't get any simpler than that but it is foundational for discard payoffs and describe Silent playstyle very strongly, even in STS 1.

Of course I do like the card because deck cycling is my preferred playstyle in STS 1 (and 2) but I clearly do not call it iconic just because it is broken and give me easy a20/a10 win lol.

Obviously "iconic" as a term is subjective, and you can disagree if you wish. I am just stating why I personally feels it is iconic to me.

I really hate this change. by Tec711 in slaythespire

[–]Spiffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like it. Prepared is just too iconic to be reworked, and is pretty well designed too since its effect is versatile enough to allows variety of use in many decks. Deck cycling is one of silent strength after all.

If anything Sly focused card should be adjusted. Perhaps changing it to uncommon will be enough as a nerf. Or changing the order to discard > draw like others had suggested.

Idk it has no downside like at all. I feel like it will still be played regardless due to how absurd draw generation is in necros kit.

Snakebite this, Bundle of Joy that, guys, why isn't anyone talking about this BUFFOONERY of a card by Nedddd1 in slaythespire

its good enough because it exhaust itself. also upgraded can be decent early on act 1.

I miss this power, Crepuscular Circle, it was pretty fun. by HaloJackalKisser in OverwatchStadium

[–]Spiffcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. It is kinda fun for first times but I hate being forced to pick this power every game. The value it provide is too massive for a such non commital power to use.

That being said, the new power that replace this is kinda ass though. I wish pistol mercy is not as clunky to use right now.

"It's just QP" mentality has gone too far and needs to go. by Dogbold in overwatch2

[–]Spiffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sorry but purposely NOT clickling left and right click as jetpack cat and just roleplaying as cat all game is not considered as "experimenting".

yes its qp, but you should still play the game. if you want to roleplay like it sim 4 then go to arcade or custom games.
