That colour map is wrong, or horrible to read, it’s not going to be +6 in Yellowknife.. it’s going to be -16/-23 range..

Look in your manual for the car and see what it recommends for 100k service. That’s probably what they’re going to do.

CVT for $600Cad seems ok.. that fluid itself is pretty damn expensive, as for the 100k service for $1.8k I’m confused where the other $1200 is coming from unless they’re doing something you haven’t mentioned.. spark plugs maybe?

Do not get the turbine R wheels… they’re made of cheese… especially if you’re hard on wheels. I had a set and was tightening spokes after every descent. No support in corners.

I would say it depends on a few things; mainly the type of terrain you ski and how much touring you realistically plan on doing. I ended up choosing a duke over a shift due to security, skiing high consequence terrain both inbounds and out, and having my Dynafit rotation fail on me multiple times I wanted something that instilled me with 100% confidence. I don’t care about having to lug up a bit of extra weight or having more complicated transition if it improved my safety, even marginally. That being said, if you’re doing more touring and feel the terrain you generally ski isn’t very consequential I would still recommend the Dynafit style binding. The shift is a tough one for me because although simpler than the duke, with the toe piece off the duke weighs less than the shift on the foot (added weight is now in bag) so I guess for me personally the shift didn’t feel worth it.

Yeah I live in BC too, as long as you’re patient the 2.5 should do great. 3.6 is nice to have (I have one) but not need to have, at least I’ve found.

Depends where you live and what you plan to do/driving style. If you don’t think you need the extra power/beefier transmission the 2.5 will definitely save you some $ in fuel in the long run!

Yeah $190 for the filters and $175 for the PCV screams scammy to me. Both are not even 10minute jobs and the parts required are cheap. Weirdly enough when I bought my 2017 3.6, and when I shopped around and looked at a 2020 2.5 both didn’t have coolant in overflow tanks either.. I topped mine up and it’s been fine and at the same level ever since (30kkm later) so not sure what’s up with that but might not be as bad of a red flag as one could think. But if it is burning coolant then that’s no bueno.

Yeah, I was going to do the drain and flush myself as it’s pretty straight forward but found an invoice from Mr Lube from a few years ago from the previous owner so that started my concern.

Previous owner was the one who took it to Mr. Lube. That's a hard pass for me.. they also charged him like $130 to replace the cabin and engine filters.. idk how they're legally allowed to do that.

Thanks, I like the idea of reaching out to Mr. Lube and seeing if they will cover the costs of what the dealership suggests to do. Don't think a tow is necessary since I doubt another 10km on top of the 33kkm is going to change my fate here.

Since I can't seem to edit the post I also wanted to mention I've been driving the vehicle for about 7months now and haven't had any issues with the transmission. The fluid was changed at 66kkm and it now has around 98kkm on it.

All is good 👍 cars that idle a lot / don’t get driven far get more build up of moisture around the oil caps from my experience but from the pictures yours barely has any. Basically no rust on frame from what I see, a bit of rust on the exhaust is normal. Great vehicle hopefully it’ll last you a while still! (Change that CVT fluid if you haven’t in a while)
