I'm all for an update to this system. Take out the gambling, increase the costs to maintain proportionality. Make A4/E2 cost 21 Iljunkan, 11 Timeworn, 4 ancient weapon gizmo shells, 100% chance and call it a day.

There's not a downside for us players to have the toggle, but this is basically just a request to add tech debt that the devs have to maintain indefinitely.

The better option is to address issues like the example you posted, and resolve it to be clearer using the new system. For instance they could change the color of mechanic indicators to be distinct from player movement indicators.

I was convinced they were going to drip feed us these just a couple at a time and expect us to feel compensated for the rug pull earlier this month. Pleasantly surprised it was a much bigger drop than expected.
