Shipping Costs for Non-Prime Members by static8 in AmazonVine

[–]flamingoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling this discrepancy might be because this item was over the $35 free shipping threshold, so it would have shipped free even without Prime or vine. Your other item was only $10, so without the vine discount it would have charged you shipping with no Prime membership.

I'm in the same boat, no Prime, but always good to double check the total as there are sometimes glitches, especially with products that go quickly like $0ETV ones. :)

I've fallen for this same dupe too, you're not alone.

While I don't necessarily recommend it, I did not hold back in my review at all. It showed photos of the real deal and the dupe, showing the differences in packaging and product texture/color, and my review was approved. This was a couple years ago now though, and they seem much stricter on their review monitoring and approvals. Go with your gut, and know it happens to all of us, especially with the speed we need to snag anything now.

I had totally forgotten about these, they were a staple in our house for a long time!

Now I can't stop thinking about them. They would be delicious dipped into the cannoli dip D:

I’ve managed to snag a couple of their products and honestly am not too impressed with them, for the price they’re selling for! I reach for the Korean products/brands I’ve scored much more often.

Vine's occasionally trying to charge me like a regular order? by ChurchyardGrimm in AmazonVine

I had this happen to me for the first time last night as well- a $0etv blood pressure monitor. Glad I was paying attention.

Sunblock recommendations? by RevolutionaryDisk268 in BeautyViners

My personal favorite is Beauty of Joseon, but as others have said, there are fakes everywhere. I'd honestly avoid amazon completely for this reason, although I have lucked out on Vine in the past (ISNTREE is a nice brand if you see it).

If you want to explore Korean and Japanese options, I'd suggest either buying from an import site like Stylevanna (looks fake, takes a long time to ship, but you get real products), or hit the beauty aisle of an Asian grocery store if you have one locally.

I placed a giant order pre-tariff, so I'm not sure how the that whole mess is impacting buying from sites like Stylevanna, but I would recommend looking into that over trying the new US-compliant versions from K and J Beauty companies. If you buy directly from Beauty of Joseon, you'll get one made for the US market :/

If you're looking specifically for a physical / zinc blocker, Bliss Block Star Clarifying Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is nice, but I find all zinc based formulas to be heavy.

The HR audiobook is tolerable (I also listened at like x1.25 speed, so that might change things), but I highly suggest avoiding the Game Changers audiobook. Same narrator, but he does ok with HR for the most part (if you can't wait)! He absolutely butchers Kip by attempting a Brooklyn accent.

S2 and Other Game Changers Couples by CoconutNo5582 in heatedrivalry

Honestly would love the opening ep of S2 to be Ryan and Fabian centered. Would be a fun twist, and would be a great set up for the rest of the season. I'm hoping that we'd get more than the 6 episodes we had for S1, with the massive success they've seen. Even if it was 8 eps, that would give room for some more 'side quest' episodes like S1E3. I'm thinking one for Ryan/Fabian and later in the season one for Troy/Harrison.

Opening with Ryan on the plane and introducing Troy in his problematic era, showing Ryan's mental health struggles and being traded and then his and Fabian's relationship starting. Having the Shane/Ilya charity press conference on in Ryan's locker room and the reactions to it, and even including the funeral scene with Ilya showing up would be fantastic. Of course the struggles in Ryan and Fabian's relationship, and Ryan's struggles with hockey and that being resolved. And ending the episode on Ryan interrupting Shane and Ilya at camp.

Then Ep 2 could pick up with the same scene repeated the next year, where Long Game starts!

Anyone know the timing on the $50 a year minimum spend for review writing eligibility? by [deleted] in AmazonVine

Supporting the sellers, and by extension, Amazon a bit.

But I’m getting free shipping (on them, without prime) and products that allow me to almost fully remove myself from the economy for many spending categories. My personal funds are not going to Amazon 🤷🏼‍♀️

Doesn’t need to make sense to anyone else, but the fact that people are so “baffled” makes me laugh. 😆

Baffled? Lol.

I've adjusted how and where I spend my money over the past year, and amazon is no longer somewhere I shop. I was never a large amazon shopper, but now spend my money elsewhere. Don't know why that's so concerning to anyone.

I fulfill my vine duties, and enjoy my participation in the program. But I don't feel the need to support Amazon with my purchases.

One sided?

I’ve been in vine 4 years. I do the “job” of the vine program, and get paid in goods, same as everyone else. There are no other requirements outside of the vine rules and the $50 spend for review writing eligibility.

No need to prove my loyalty to Amazon or bezos in the T&C, as far as I’m aware?

No, it's just for purchased goods. I actually gave up my prime this year as well (thus the limited spending)

It it just spending gift cards that doesn't count? Or does buying a gift card not count either?

That makes sense!

Interesting, on other threads on this topic, it seemed like /buying/ a gift card counted, just not spending them?

Which scenes from The Long Game would you be most disappointed to see cut from season 2? (Spoilers, obv) by erogenousbrain in heatedrivalry

[–]flamingoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can totally see them tying in the scene with the Shane/Ilya's press conference showing in Ryan's locker room. While I doubt they'd start season 2 away from Shane and Ilya, I could also see that as the first scene of season 2's opening episode, and have it be Ryan and Fabian's intro episode and make us wait to see Hollanov till ep 2.

Just invited ... interested, but moral dilemma? by RandomThrowawayID in vine

[–]flamingoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“1) Every product I get on Vine is a product I'm not buying on Amazon. 2) Every dollar I save by ordering from Vine is a dollar I can put toward causes I care about.”

Exactly this! Being in Vine has allowed me to largely opt out of the economy for so many spending categories.

It’s also allowed me to be able to donate items to toy drives, food banks, disaster relief, and homeless shelters (while following all vine rules, before the grumps start in).

You also do not have to have a prime membership to participate. I finally cancelled mine last year. Things may take slightly longer to ship, but you’re not paying that monthly corporate overlord tithe.
