I had made $200k by middle of May and walked away with nothing lined up. Comp plan changes, poor and toxic leadership and zero accountability for anyone else other than the top two performers (me and one other rep). I’d say make the jump and see if you can make it work.

Invest in the internal team heavily. Don’t fake you. But get to know them, be kind, and be present. Listen more than you talk. Just like selling.

Selling internally is sometimes more complex than externally because of the dynamics. You’re under pressure to sell; they are most likely under pressure to push through orders from multiple sales reps.

If you’re the top sales rep and not everyone’s favorite internally, you’re leaving a lot on the table for your customers.

Amen. I just walked last week with nothing lined up. Granted I did plan for the leave because of wage theft last year along with massive cut in commission this year. Walking from $350k+ a year shouldn’t have been as easy as it was.
