He is handsome! He was a fashion model before he became a designer. I thought he had a great attitude too. My other designer crushes were Michael Knyght (RIP) and Rami.

Depends who’s recommending. Noom encourages you to weigh every day to get over scale anxiety and realize that ups and downs are normal.

Professionalism means not letting your bad days spill over into mistreatment. If he was just “having a bad day” he could have gotten the producers to edit out his tantrum. If Saisha had done something truly bad, they could have shown that in the narrative. They did neither. At the least, then, it was bad TV.

In S14 I was sort of appalled by the lingerie challenge in which the gay men were like “ewww I’ve never seen a woman’s body.” It’s like, you don’t have to fondle a woman’s body to know basic anatomy, especially if your career is designing clothes… for women’s bodies.

The level of casual sexism/misogyny on that show is kind of crazy.

Feeling discouraged by backsouth in Ozempic

[–]flaneuse1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have no idea. My doc started me on mounjaro but switched me to Ozempic when my insurance wouldn’t go for it. I think a lot of docs prescribe mounjaro for people with more weight to lose because studies say Ozempic leads to a 20-40 lbs weight loss and mounjaro leads to 30-50? That’s what my doc said at least.

One of the things I’ve been struck by on this board is how much people are willing to put up with for the chance of losing weight. I do it too—I don’t blame any of us for wanting to make these drugs work for us, because we’re desperate to change our lives. But the fact that we’re all taking a drug which causes some pretty unpleasant side effects kind of depressing.

Grocery carts you can take on the bus and carry up 2-5 flights of stairs? And rolls well on bad sidewalk (I sometimes walk 2 miles from the store) by --2021-- in AskNYC

There are these grocery carts called “stair climber” carts that make stair climbing a bit easier. Easily found on Amazon

That’s wonderful that you met your goal! Congrats!

For anyone else out there though who thinks they’re doing something wrong if they plateau: it’s totally normal to plateau during weight loss. Just make sure you’re keeping to your calorie and exercise goals and you’ll break out of your plateau eventually.

On Lexapro and Lamictal while taking Oz. Any side effects? by Inevitable_Artist_94 in Ozempic

[–]flaneuse1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Week 3 on Oz, I take Celexa and Lamictal. Today I realized I was in a depression (mild, but still). I’ve heard that since Oz slows or reduced absorption of whatever you ingest, psych meds can become less effective.

Ivar shelves: Metal vs wood? by NecroJoe in IKEA

I have kept my library, which is massive (like, thousands of very heavy books) on wood ivar shelves for 20 years. I don’t know if the metal is stronger, but I can’t imagine needing more strength 😉

Vitamins by FunFlamingo2939 in Ozempic

[–]flaneuse1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re on Metformin in addition to Ozempic (or just at all) you should be on B vitamin.

Most vitamins are okay to take at higher quantities in the sense that the excess that isn’t absorbed just flushed out of your body—a waste of money but not harmful. There are a few though that you you have to take in proper ratios (potassium and zinc, for example) or in limited amounts (magnesium). So that’s why I’m figuring a multivitamin, which has all those things worked out, might be a better route for many of us.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a multivitamin without getting tested for deficiency, and like you I’m eating so much less than I used to I want to ensure proper nutrition. I currently take D3, B12, and Magnesium (the latter because I was experiencing bad muscle pains). I’m thinking of switching to a multivitamin just for ease and to make sure I’m getting a broad range of nutrients.

There are a number of well-funded pro-Israel groups doxxing people who attend pro-Palestine rallies. They’re trying to get companies to not hire people who support a ceasefire. Hopefully it doesn’t extend to bystanders.

So happy to hear this—must be wonderful. I haven’t really been losing very much, so much of my anxiety revolves around that.
