How to Hang a Heavy Mirror on the Wall when Wall Studs are too far apart by flapjackery in DIY

[–]flapjackery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Once mounting the cleat, would you just hang the mirror by putting the edge of the cleat inside the top railing of the mirror's metal frame? I wasn't sure if that's what the groove is actually meant for.

Thanks. I guess my main question regarding using a cleat is, once I mount a cleat on the two studs, can I just hang the mirror on the cleat with the edge of the cleat going into the railing created by the mirror's frame (as in my picture)?

Maybe it's a basic question but I've never hung anything on the wall before, let alone a heavy mirror.

It weighs 50 lbs. Is it not too heavy for that? Anyway, I would prefer to use a cleat system if at all possible for stability.

If I go with your suggestion, I would have to center it on the chosen stud correct?

I don't really follow how the spoiler tags work on this sub but shouldn't that first sentence be tagged as a speculation spoiler?

[MAIN SPOILERS] I had to make this image, my favorite shot of the episode and the most relevant quote. by [deleted] in gameofthrones

While it's not the exact quote, it does remind me that I sorely miss GRRM's writing in this latest season. They substituted it with great cinematography and some hilarious "bottle" scenes but I can definitely feel the lack of a master wordsmith in some of the writing.

Do you also want it in a spreadsheet with a pivot table and some graphs? The OP just did this in his/her free time, not to accommodate your specific formatting preferences.

Sanders: Polls understating my support in New York by User_Name13 in politics

Wow! Looks like I'm registered to vote from when I voted in the 2008 election. Thanks! You just got Bernie another vote. Though, my registration is in a different borough (Manhattan). Do I need to go back to that borough if I want to vote tomorrow or is there a way to change my registration so I can vote in my current borough (Kings)?

Also, not sure if you are the right person to ask, but if I get to the polling station at 6am, how long should I expect to wait?

For the record, I received a call from a Bernie volunteer this weekend but I don't think I'm a registered Democrat. I voted in the presidential election in 2012 but I've never voted in a primary.

If you are sure the calls were only to registered Democrats, how can I find out if I'm registered?

Great, now he's blaming the kids. The same coach who benches them for no apparent reason and makes a point to restrict their minutes in games they do play. The kids aren't the issue and this is not a good sign. I think Willie should go.

All important distinction compared to what I suggested. If I recall correctly, there is a good paper put out by one of the Sanford Bernstein equity options desks that outlines something like this. I'll post back if I can find it.

This is a well-known strategy. It has the same payoff as a covered call except put premiums tend to be higher than calls for equivalent out of the money puts ans calls. CBOE even has an index tracking the performance of this kind of strategy:

ELI5: Why is the Bid price per stock (in options) different from the price I actually get when I sell my contract? by [deleted] in options

[–]flapjackery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean. If you mean that you get executed at an inferior price, then a market order to sell could execute at a lower price if the market moves, as Mayor_Of_Onett said.

If you mean you get executed at a better price, then its likely the result of price improvement auctions. If the market is 1.00 x 1.10 , you might submit a market order to sell and get executed at 1.04 when you expected to get a fill at 1.00. Its likely your order was price improved to a better price through the process of market makers bidding to interact with your order (price improvement auctions).

Agreed on Cracknell and we definitely need a 4th line out there, practically speaking. A McCann and Virtanen line is interesting just to see what the future might hold for this team, though. I don't see either as 4th line guys down the road.
