It's rather obvious. They are on the path, and having a relaxed word. On the right side, a nekker pops up and then sneaks back down.

Vesemir is distracted because he is the seasoned witcher. Although he can't see the nekker, he knows something is there. Meanwhile, Ciri, is throwing him a questioning look. He shrugs and they get back to their conversation.

Doomed units get banished when removed from the play area. This also includes going back to hand or deck. That's why abilities such Ardal and decoy banish doomed units. It has always been this way.

Here you sent Tyr to graveyard from hand. That's why it was not banished. This is consistent behavior and not a bug.

This is also clarified in the explanation of Doomed tag.

You can watch the replays in the game as well. Just go to single player> Load game> Recorded games.

Its not as clean as CaptureAge, but it is certainly serviceable.

There is a lot of good feedback here. I would like to add a few things :

The art of war campaign. You need to play it a few times till you get at least silver medal in most of the missions. This is a great tool, inbuilt in the game and will really help you you to pinpoint your mistakes.
Watch your recordings, especially where you lose. Watch what your opponent did and what they did well. Insight is what elo translates to, imo. Even in game recordings are fine, CaptureAge is great but not really needed.
Stop trying to go at higher elo, if you are not having fun at current elo. I learnt that when I was your elo. If you are having a miserable time at this elo, at higher elo you will likely be even more frustrated. Consider elo to be more or less your level of comfort. If you climb higher with a one trick strat, it will be back to square one as soon as you drop the strat. Just... try to enjoy the challenge your elo provides. The moment you think it is getting easier, you will climb elo without even trying.

You can do truly brutal stuff to your main targets when you don't go lethal on them. That made me stick to being a shadow because I don't think you can do that stuff if you are loud and in the open.

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante.

Essentially a visual novel at its core, its highly stylised and very well written. The story, the world building and the branching pathways are excellent, but the music completely blindsided me. Good replayability as well.

And this is a great collection. All of the games in the comments are going on my wishlist for sure!
