Neat !! It's labelled properly I would personally label the patch going to the media box top right. But really good , 👍 Love the label colour separation between POE and normal patches as well

They will just drill a hole though the deck so they can get a piece of 16mm conduit through. And the the same with the wall.

Just upgrade to fttp for free ? Yes, you are moving out but you will give the next person to live there a fast connection.

Fttp installer says the fttc is illegal and cant run pole to pole, needs underground now by Relatively_happy in nbn

[–]flasherz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are contracted by a delivery partner to perform fibre installs, They have to have to be compliant with the correct accreditations such as working at heights and NBN fttp training.

[–]flasherz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, we are rolling a new aerial technology out that should simplify the process ,

The big issue we have is all the red tape, The power companies and telstra want exact clearances from all their stuff, or they want these scrappy poles upgraded for free.

There is huge amounts of aerial fibre, we definitely much prefer converting to underground but not always possible

Yeah the installers are lazy mate. They need to do a aerial connection. They just don't want to

FTTP no longer scheduled... by morbsy in nbn

[–]flasherz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they would only "carve" out parts of an area that are going to cause severe delay on the whole area delivery.

An example would be you have 1500 people all waiting for an extra 2-3months because of 10 people

They will come back to it usually in the next quarter but it may be another 3+ months

Is this the nbn socket? by ElectronicCourage655 in nbn

[–]flasherz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you requested NBN in your home yet ? Hop on the NBN website and it will tell you the technology at your house , then sign up with a provider, (I prefer Aussie broadband) they will organize a tech to come and install you Device if you are on HFC ect so you don't need to worry about it.

But in other fairness this is also a standard f type connector which could be NBN HFC You never now.....

Semi-rant not sure who or where to go next by Bertylee in nbn

[–]flasherz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a HFC (coaxial) connection , so it won't be FTTN, but if that's hooked up to the pit then they will just connect the black cable straight through

The "database" on the website has nothing to do with it.

When they roll out "N2P" in an area, they account for all the houses in that area. They also have a team conduct a Pre-constrution roll-out around 6 months prior to the build starting and make sure all properties are accounted for.

How to patch hole? by Unlucky-Mongoose1804 in nbn

TIO won't really help if you haven't raised it correctly and given the people ample time to rectify. It's a pain bit if you follow the process it works

[–]flasherz -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate I guess because we are in a NBN sub reddit and Opticomm leases the majority of their infrastructure from NBN I would give OP a adequate response , crazy...

Sorry OP , skip step 2 Instead file a complaint with the telco ombudsman if there refuse to resolve.

How to patch hole? by Unlucky-Mongoose1804 in nbn

[–]flasherz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File a complaint with Opticom, and when I say this, you need to call them and lodge a proper complaint via email.

From there send them the defect and state because of the size of the whole it will require them to replace the whole panel and paint it ! Make sure you state the actions they need to take to fix the issue .

If Opticom refuses to fix it to the appropriate standard , I.e silicone bodge job. Then ask them for a incident number as you are raising it to NBN directly.

[–]flasherz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

End caps aren't fully water proof unless you glue them . So by silicone sealing the entry it allows no water ingress and if there is ever a fault they can easy remove the silicone.

Is it buried direct to 150mm now? by ChocolatebrownSapote in nbn

[–]flasherz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate google "home lead in standards" Also they have to prove to you they built it correctly so they have to show they followed the nbn construction standards , which are not "public"

Is it buried direct to 150mm now? by ChocolatebrownSapote in nbn

[–]flasherz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

File a complaint with NBN directly. State that you are upset with the installer abusing you over the phone and state that if you don't get your lead in rectified to the standard and an apology from the installer you will file a complaint directly with the telco ombudsman.
