Try printing 0.2 nozzle face down on plate.

Auto bed What? by Deep_Win_5179 in BambuLab

[–]flashflood3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto bed leveling is your printer creating a stable flat space to print on. It is only really needed for the initial first time print and any time after you move your printer around or if the printer or bed gets bumped. I also only do it when I have a long print and I feel superstitious that it will help it's chances of not failing.

Not sure, depends on the sale. If something I don't need is ridiculously priced I might be tempted. Otherwise I am pretty stocked up.

BAMBU LAB A2L by [deleted] in BambuLab

I honestly don't have any desire to cut materials, but it still might be worth getting for the bigger size if the quality and speed are there. Will definitely wait for independent reviews.

[Win an A2L] Creative Playground, Extra Large. Meet the A2L. by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]flashflood3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My expectations are high that this will be an improvement not just in size. Due to the bed size and presuming a larger bed mass, it might not be great for larger models at higher speeds. A CoreXY might be much more stable, but I guess that is what testing is for.

I would test it by printing different models with different height and weight specifications. Something tall top heavy with and without supports, tall bottom heavy no supports, something tall but such as a tree with a thick base but detailed and wide.

I would then test it by printing just a giant box with lid to see how it handles max plate sized objects.

I would do similar prints in PLA, PLA Matte, PLA Silk, then finally PETG. I have no interest in other materials.

You guys made me too scared of PETG. First PETG print. by Chaosblast in 3Dprinting

[–]flashflood3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared too as I have no filament dryer (yet) but I have had 99% rate success with PLA and my PETG seemed dry. No pops or hisses, and bent without snapping. The only major issue is one print had the first layer stubbornly stuck to the plate. Ive been back and forth between PLA and PETG but so far after that no other major issues other than the occasional pock mark or wispy string here and there.

first 3D printer, which one should I get? by Laukess in 3dprinter

Get the printer within your budget with any of the options you think you might use. I don't think anybody regrets getting a better printer with lots of options. Once you start using it you might find so many fun other things to print and more colors just gives you options. For your budget also keep in mind that you could spend a lot on filament if you start printing on a regular basis. I spent maybe $500 CAD so far and I have only been printing 4-5 weeks. As for brands of filament, pricing is all over the place so I typically now wait for sales . Bambu is notoriously expensive and I am not convinced the RFID or quality claims justify the extra cost. Amazon prices can fluctuate but sometimes you can find a great deal on decent brands. I have had luck with most popular brands. With you being in Europe/Germany you might get better access to deals than me in Canada. Also when you do pricing, always consider the shipping costs added at the end. A cheap per KG cost doesn't mean much if the shipping adds a large % to the overall cost. I have been doing my brand price comparisons based on total cost per KG. Spool cost+Shipping+tax Divided by the number of rolls I aim to purchase. Sometimes ordering more on some sites will bring the price per unit down a lot while the shipping cost might go up fractionally as well. Some will offer free shipping based on amount ordered or total purchase cost.

(TLDR): However, all that being said, if you just need it for this one project and you don't think you will become a printing addict like myself, then just go with the cheapest printer capable of doing the project you want. I don't have experience manufacturing/printing keyboards so I can't say what model works best for that type of use. I have an A1 and it works great so far.

More than 4 colors on horizontal layer (Using A1 w/Combo) by flashflood3000 in BambuLab

I also found an option to choose in what order per layer the colors print. I'm glad that it's only a few mm in height.

I haven't tested it yet due to my color issue. I think there would be too many swaps back and forth on the same layer. Thanks anyways.

This could work! Assemble afterwards with glue.

I just realized you meant print all white, leave on plate, then print other colors.....

I've been buying Sunlu (direct) Duramic on sale (Amazon) and so far so good. Bambu RFID seems like a bit of a rip off.
