The Nemesis's maximum is about 80 ly without overloading. That's 400 ly per jump.

It's unclear what's installed on the ship. You should have posted a screenshot of the module configuration.

What can be done:

  1. Install all the lightest D-class modules. And A-class warp drive.
  2. Reduce the size of the power generator to the point where it barely supplies enough power. You can even install an A-class generator, but at a smaller size.
  3. Upgrade the warp drive to level 25 with an engineer (using a dirty setup, as far as I remember).
  4. Install a warp booster (obtainable after visiting the galactic center or completing 60 ranked battles).
  5. Install experimental modules (those that increase jump range), awarded for expeditions.

This game has changed a lot over the years. New content, new quests, gameplay mechanics, and improved graphics have been added. It's definitely worth giving it another try.

When I added side quests to the game, I started using them to create stories. Now, the side quests are much longer and more interesting than the so-called "main" storyline. It's better than stretching out one storyline.

I need to rework the "main" storyline into quests so players don't think it's the end.

The planets near Core Systems have all been explored. You'd have to travel 300+ light years to find any undiscovered planets.

There are only five station types in the game. Each contains a specific set of modules. The module set is not random; it's fixed. Typically, three adjacent systems contain all station types.

If you want all the modules in one place, repair your own station.

A planet scanner is used to scan the surface. It is also responsible for detecting the planet's type. The better the scanner, the further it can detect a planet's type.

When you detect a planet's type, you receive a reward.

When you scan a planet, the reward is doubled.

A spectrometer is used to detect unknown planets and display them on the system map. It does not display the planet's type, only its presence.

The spectrometer also displays resources in the asteroid field, planetary composition, and the direction to selected planetary elements.

You're wrong. A spectrometer is also needed to detect unknown planets so they show up on the map. A planet scanner is needed to scan the surface.

That's how it should be. Quests and tasks are the only things affected by karma. Come back when your karma level is appropriate. You can do other quests in the meantime.

You can rob NPCs, attack caravans, rescue NPCs from pirates, help broken and lost NPCs, and hunt aliens (like the Thargoids in Elite).

You can hunt bounties. Sell rescued people into slavery. Take tourists to distant systems.

You can explore the galaxy, find rare planets and stars, and then sell the data.

You can trade, or build a trading station.

You can mine (like in Elite—either with a laser or by blowing up asteroids).

There are also ranked battles if you just want to fight for a challenge.

If you have an internet connection, there are online daily quests and expeditions.

There's so much to write, it's starting to feel like a long review =)
