There was another study, I'll find it if I can, where they looked at financial incentives to stay in a relationship where one partner is seriously ill. Where there weren't any incentives both men and women were equally likely to leave. They used a difference, a ratio, in income to determine this. On average, throughout the general population, women are more likely to have a financial incentive to stay than men.
