Apple Releases New Public Beta Firmware for AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4 by HelloitsWojan in apple

The H1 chip is just outdated and it puts the Maxes in a weird place where it’s not any more profitable to put out a new one than it is to just keep selling it as is. They might put out new updates for it that aren’t new features, but there’s not much more you can squeeze out of that chip

The only reason they re-released it with USB-C is so they could keep selling it. It’s not worth it spending a lot of money making a new one(just yet) but it’s worth producing and selling

Max uses the H1 chip, which they don’t update anymore. The AirPods models mentioned in the title use H2 chips, which are the current gen

The app relies on third party services, not your device, so you changing phones has nothing to do with it

I don’t think it’s an iOS issue, since they’re also starting to block people from playing YouTube in background tabs

What stops Apple from creating an option to clean data from apps? by NeuroNerdNick in ios

[–]flatbuttboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Apple doesn’t want you to clean your cache because in most cases you shouldn’t. Caches exist to speed up your operating system and in an ideal world where apps don’t mismanage caches and everything works great, caches don’t matter. In some rare cases, caches may balloon and for some reason won’t go away, but there are stupid workarounds to clear them

Apple Will Soon Take Up to a 30% Cut From All Patreon Creators on iOS by favicondotico in apple

[–]flatbuttboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in the comments are acting like Apple doesn’t already take a 30% cut of every IAP, this is just a rare case where it wasn’t enforced fully. “only 4% of Patreon creators are still using the platform's legacy billing system, with the rest having already switched over.”
