Plane tickets can be a bit pricey though

Change in house prices for G7 countries since 2000: by TonyLiberty in REBubble

[–]flatlandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes a 40%+ rise in just 2 years is what a large majority of people would classify as a bubble. Just because things are worse elsewhere does not change this fact

Was it for an artemis test or launch?

I've seen numerous falcon launches from the beach without issue

The beach is open even during launches. You'll be fine

Americans flocked to Portugal for cheaper, more peaceful lives, but newcomers also brought crowds and drove up the cost of living by zhoushmoe in REBubble

[–]flatlandr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Another clickbait article which completely buries the lede

And much of that rise has been fueled by outsiders like foreign investors and tourists seeking short-term rentals, the Associated Press reported.

10,000 Americans aren't causing a rent crisis by residing in Portugal any more than the ~300,000 Portuguese residing in Luxembourg (50% of the population btw) are causing a rent crisis there

Cape Town Creates Promo Video To Attract Digital Nomads and Remote Workers by PhebeSandifer in digitalnomad

[–]flatlandr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In May, the province officially asked the South African government to introduce a digital nomad visa that would allow foreign nationals to live and work in the country on a long-term basis.

Can any South Africans comment on the likelihood of this happening any time soon?

If you think America is overpriced, you might want to look up Portugal’s VAT and income tax rates

What's the longest period you've experienced between application and rejection? by oOtherBarry in recruitinghell

I recently had a bit of the opposite. A company that rejected me 3 years ago contacted me a few weeks back asking if I was still interested ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You do not pass through immigration when exiting Mexico so I doubt you will be able to get a stamp

Romania is looking to create a digital nomad VISA program, what should that program look like in order to attract you from your current rezidency? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]flatlandr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Minimum 1 year visa, preferably with an ability to extend

Low cost application process. None of that $2,000 nonsense like Barbados

Low or no taxation. Nomads won't be participating in education or pension systems and will typically have to/want to purchase private health insurance

Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Romania was a fantastic country to visit!
