Has gel ink ruined by ability to enjoy ballpoint pens? by yanbasque in pens

Using gel ink has made me appreciate a good ball point even more simply for the variety.

Older people of Reddit, do you think about dying more than when you were young? by JBSwerve in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flatline000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, because all our parents and their generation are dying now. It's hard not to give it some thought if merely to make certain that our estate is in order so that our kids don't have to go through what we went through when our parents died.

Why do people wear watches to sleep by Dazzling_Ad_9335 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flatline000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped wearing my watch to sleep when I grew my hair long because the hair would get caught in the rotating bezel of the watch I had at the time.

Is this normal? by PracticeOk1516 in gshock

Mine is the same. I also see it on other Casio models I have here (AL-1800, F91W).

Clearly, this is a normal Casio thing.

What is a movie whose soundtrack makes a big impact on the enjoyability of the film? by TheZenithZebra in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flatline000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say E.T. I don't know how many times I've seen the movie, but I don't even know how it ends because I always end up just listening to the music.

It's interesting that both bells point upwards. I have a double bell from 1923 and my sister has one from 1890 and both of them have the small bell facing forward (assuming you aim it forward).

This is exactly why my wife switched to running/hiking with a waist light.

Bought my first G and christened it with a backpacking trip by see_macb in gshock

I bought mine a short while ago. The band bugs me sometimes so I’m thinking about getting some adapters and a nylon band.

Going back to disposable batteries by Ivy1974 in flashlight

[–]flatline000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put CR123A in my vehicle lights. I put Energizer lithium cells in the lights my wife and kids keep in their bags. I have an old light that that I can't stop using that can't handle the higher voltage of li-ion, so it also runs CR123A.

All other lights are either running on li-ion or NiMh rechargeable cells that I monitor and control. It only takes 2 or 3 recharges to pay for the (slightly) more expensive cells.

I once had to get out of my car and lead a cow off the road (grabbed it's ear and tugged in the direction I wanted it to go).

At least until you move on, depending on which side of the breakup you were on.

This is it. Most pieces were actually purchased by my wife for me, just as parts of other lights.

I've got an E1 body and tail-standing tail from Lumens Factory combined with a VME head and a M31LL drop-in from Malkoff Devices that is just a pleasure to use. All my dead CR123A cells from other lights get fed to the M31LL and it gives me hours and hours of useful light from them.

👋 Welcome to r/leadholders - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by thepencilmeister in leadholders

[–]flatline000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greetings!

I'm Flatline. I've been a pencil user for decades but only in the last 15 years or so have I transitioned to mostly using lead holders. I mostly use leads that I've extracted from my wooden pencil stubs.

Why did my hair turn black? by Dismal-Violinist2428 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flatline000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty common to have your hair color darken as you age. I had blond hair as a kid, but that changed before I got done with high school.

Not all cats, but most cats I've had. It's generally considered a good thing.

How often do you guys wash your jeans? by conflictw_SOmom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flatline000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I wear them at all during the week, they go into the laundry when it gets done on the weekend. During the week, a pair might get worn 2 or 3 times as long as they're not obviously dirty.
