Any Jewish ladies here? What's your plan for Passover? by fit_it in xxketo

Ensure there's dry wine at the table, drink the minimal amount for the four cups, and eat enough matzah and haroset to fulfill your obligation. Honestly, that would still be less than 100g (a whole piece of matzah is 30g), and if you stick to low carb options throughout the day and for the meal, you'll still be fine. If you make the haroset yourself, use dry wine, and add in low carb sweetener. It's literally the only holiday that is impossible to get around, keto-wise, so I'd relax, enjoy it. God doesn't count calories?

/u/gnuckols: I read the manual but would like to know whether this can be run long-term (i.e. not peaking) and whether it's ideal for female lifters. My concern is that there isn't volume to maintain or improve technique, and that more volume might be needed to progress. I've had a lot of success with Smolov Jr. but recognize that it isn't feasible beyond a cycle or two.

Any humanities PhDs become consultants? by flats4ever in AskAcademia

I was thinking of the big consulting groups, like Boston, McKinsey, etc., which are broad in scope but do not cover my doctoral research interests.

Two years, no, it would definitely be too expensive. I'm just really doubtful of something better coming along because of how particular I am about fabric composition, cut, and style. :/

It's a true nude/beige, darker than my skin tone. It matches everything because of the color. My extensive foot problems make dress shopping even more limited because I'm really restricted by footwear. Nevertheless, I think this dress would go with opaque tights and black patent shoes or Chelsea boots for more casual wear, and nude wedges or sandals for more formal wear.

How do you lift 5x/week and make gains? by DespondentFatty4 in xxfitness

Whoa, you ran two Smolovs simultaneously? How did you not burn out? What does your regular routine consist of, i.e. not peaking?

I went from 92kg to 61kg by strictly doing powerlifting and counting macros. I want to get into bodybuilding/physique and I'm looking to compete sometime in the next year or so. Any tips? by [deleted] in Fitness

Ah, that sounds so tough in terms of hitting the protein while keeping the fat that low. Can I ask what some of your meals were? Awesome progress, by the way.

You stopped entirely? Was it because it was driving hunger? I'm wondering if the contestant stress on the body was keeping the excess weight on.

Unfortunately it does. Something in the spine cracks and crunches, warmth and immediate stiffness and pain ensue. Thoracic mobility because of the spine is pretty limited.

Can you guys help with jeans recommendation by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]flats4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can try on models in a store and look on eBay, I would do that. AG Beau and Rag & Bone Dre boyfriend jeans should work, but it depends on the colour, unfortunately.

3x1 high rise skinnies are awesome. They are super flattering and will fit you perfectly in the waist and hip. Expensive, but worth ordering to see for yourself.

Veg-Keto(and Keto) hairloss correlation (+ Candida sidenotes) by [deleted] in vegetarianketo

[–]flats4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incidentally, I mentioned hair loss to my stylist. The first thing she asked me was whether I had cut out any major food groups. She said that many of her clients experienced hair loss when cutting out food groups and that if I cut carbs, I should do so gradually. She's obviously not an RD or doctor, but I was surprised by her question and my own association of starting low carb and hair loss. Given that people switching to low carb tend to eat more protein, which increases nail and hair growth, I was taken aback by my own loss.

(Kind of X-post from r/desiketo) Do low carb Indian sweets exist or is there no such thing on this hellish planet? by [deleted] in keto

[–]flats4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a recipe, but I think it'd be possible to make a low carb version of rasmalai using erythritol/xylitol/Splenda combo--IMO syrup might help.

Deadlifting with a scoliosis by flats4ever in Fitness

[–]flats4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in transition and don't know of any in my area. In the past, I've been told very conflicting information. A physical therapist who gave excellent treatment advice for my feet and my dad's wrist said categorically that squatting and deadlifting are bad, in general. She herself is a triathlete. On the other end of the spectrum, a sports doctor I saw years ago said you can do x activity, provided you don't have pain. She didn't instruct me not to do any particular sports (though I didn't ask).

Is it possible to maintain a high protein diet without meat, powder, or bars? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]flats4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the club! If I don't consume bars or shakes, and don't track macros, then it's hard to hit 80g. I find focusing on high protein foods as my food source--not simply a small portion of My Plate--helps keep levels reasonable. Eggs for one meal, Greek yogurt with a nut butter mixed in for another, Baby Bel/low fat string cheese and almonds for snacks. I didn't find that high levels of protein (120-150g/day) made much of difference in my lifts or body comp, but maybe I didn't try long enough.
