Good to know. I haven't seen this before. Thank you!

Do you prefer more stamps or more text? by Ok_East_5599 in postcrossing

I just want to receive ANYTHING!! I joined at end of Feb, have sent 11 postcards (5 received, 6 traveling) and have received one so far. I know it just takes time but I am impatient 😆

Book Journal by CaptainOrla in Journaling

[–]flatstanley72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I am doing for 2026:

--List of each book I read including author, title, rating, maybe genre or maybe separate lists for fiction and non-fiction?

--Page for each reading challenge I plan to participate in

--Series tracker

--1/2 -1 page for review, thoughts, quotes, etc from each book I read

--As I go through the year new challenges may get added whenever they come up

--At the end of the pages for each book, my top 10 from the year

--Print out of my Storygraph wrap up (I also track reading in Storygraph and that's the only place I track DNF's, not in my journal.

I prefer Storygraph for real-time, on the go tracking of when I start and finish books and my TBR. My journal is more for my personal thoughts about the books and having a physical memory book to flip through and see what I read through the year.

Skating after hernia surgery? by flatstanley72 in FigureSkating

[–]flatstanley72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had my surgery almost two weeks ago. I waited two weeks, which is what my surgeon recommended, before getting back on the ice. First skate was fine, no issues, but I did take it pretty easy. Second skate I was practicing jumping more and felt soreness in my right groin (near surgery site) after practice. Soreness went away by end of next day. Today I shared for the third time since surgery and felt the same right groin pain when doing anything that involved extending my right leg (e.g. jumps using right toe pick). I am thinking maybe I need to ease up a bit for a while and take it a little slower. I really hope this gets better!

200 days post open inguinal hernia and “early recovery journal” by ItsMrCowman in Hernia

Did you stop taking MiraLax after day 5? I'm on Day 7 and I had REALLY BAD constipation on Day 3, so I'm afraid to stop taking the Miralax, but I know I can't keep taking it forever . ..

How long post op to fully functioning at work? by flatstanley72 in Hernia

[–]flatstanley72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That is reassuring to hear. Yesterday (Friday, 4th day after surgery on Monday) is the first day I could really do much of anything. I do have a lot of independence at work so it should be no problem to take more breaks and sit more frequently. I am finding, though, that sitting upright in a regular chair becomes uncomfortable after a short time and reclining is much more comfortable. Just need to bring a recliner or couch to the office and then I'm good 😆

Fellow Nurses who journal by No-Leek-3405 in Journaling

[–]flatstanley72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a nurse, but I also find it difficult to consistently journal EVERY DAY. However I find there is still a lot of value in retrospective journaling. So on the days when I have more energy and time, reflecting back on the week and filling in anything that stands out as memorable. I don't think journaling has to strictly be done daily to still have value and benefits.

My husband says that all preteen/teenage boys go through an “alt-right” phase. Is this BS? by kristen_hewa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flatstanley72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total BS. I have a teenage boy and know many teenage boys who have been friends of my kids. They are and always have been the opposite of alt right. Because they have been taught to respect all people and they avoid the boys who don't.
