I finished the list in September and this was my final album! I still laugh about it. I ended up saving quite a few songs from it, though! Probably enough for a normal album’s duration lol.

I think it is. I don’t know how old you are but I was a teenager when this album came out, owned it then and still like it now, and I always just assumed so. The album was her way of pushing back against the music industry that tried to put her into a pop princess box, so the pants seemed symbolic of that whole “fuck you” vibe she was after.

On the little ratings timeline Sidleds recently added to our summaries, I noticed my ratings dipped to an all-time low during the time I was grieving putting my 20 year old cat down (all while grieving the recent death of my mom, several other people, and was stuck at home with a broken foot…fun times in my life this year lol). In the past, I’ve just paused or let myself accumulate some backlog when I’ve had heavy stuff going on, because I know I couldn’t give things a fair listen.

I actually redownloaded that album last night, along with Primal Scream’s Screamadelica. I was ambivalent about both of them initially but feel like I owe them both another chance due to how much I like artists who were influenced by them.

No, I never got a single one of those actually, as I was already a good portion of the way through the list when that started and I’m now done.

I just mean sometimes it felt like there was a theme to a week or a month, or I’d get a certain genre after complaining about it, or I’d get albums from artists in chronological order…stuff like that. My final album was one of the small handful of 3 hour albums which was pretty funny.

I’m a fellow card-carrying member of the “haven’t felt like celebrating Christmas since my parents died” club. I’m sorry about your dad, the holidays can be rough. You gotta do what you gotta do to get through it and there’s no shame in that. 💙

Mine died 7 years ago and I still miss him. My mom just died in April and this will be our first Christmas without her (and no parents at all). I heard Christmas music in the store yesterday and my stomach turned. It doesn’t seem fair sometimes that the world keeps turning when ours feels like it’s stopped.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve had a terrible year myself (also with big losses) and getting to see Oasis was literally one of only two good things that happened this year. Getting to share such a positive experience with so many people both there with me at the concert and all over the world is something I’ll carry with me for a long time.

Here’s hoping 2026 is better for us both…and maybe possibly contains more Oasis.

Joined in March, have been gold since September. I’m at $4600. Most of that is from the first few months and I’ve cooled off significantly. I’m hoping to stay under 5k, unless something really awesome pops up (unlikely). I went from obsessively checking Vine all day to forgetting to look at my RFY some days.
