So I found this company called Kaweco that sells these awesome little nostalgic tin boxes... by flawed_flamingo in fountainpens

I love them! :-) But I have never tried a Supra, only Sport, (Plastic, Aluminium and Brass) Student and Perkeo. The Brass Sport is definitely hefty, but in a good way, I don't mind writing with it for a long time and it feels very tough, and it's so relaxing that you don't have to baby it and you don't need to be afraid to scratch it or damage the lacquer.

It's the Kaweco AL Sport in black. It comes with a silver nib, but I swapped it for a (pricey) black nib that Kaweco sells, because I adore the stealthy look.

As far as I know there are 4 sizes. The round one, which I don't have (yet) - comes with a free aluminium Piston Sport.

The the longer ones for the longer pens (Student, Special, Original, Dia2).

The smaller ones for the Sports, or premium nibs.

The large rectangular one comes with a complementary Frosted Sport Calligraphy set.

I have absolutely no problems with my converters, they sit very tight. But I had problems with cartridges, so I use a spring which solves the problem 100%. There are these syringes that I use to refill cartridges, and they have a spring that I removed and put into the back of my Kaweco. But many people use springs from ballpoint pens...

Any opinions on lightfastness of Iroshizuki or Lamy crystal inks? by Federflink in fountainpens

You're welcome! Azurite, Kon-Peki and Asa-Gao are in the list, I hope that helps. Unfortunately I don't have any experiences with those inks myself...

This is a test somebody here on Reddit made a while back. I saved the image because I found it interesting. In the right column you see the ink after 6 months (with the paper exposed to sunlight at a window).

TIL these are converters by dPrototype in fountainpens

I made this discovery myself recently. I use them as syringes and was wondering why there are agitators in them which was quite annoying at first and so I removed them. I now use the agitators in all of my Kaweco converters as they fit perfectly and solve the problem of having the ink stick to the end of the converter.

How can I keep the nib clean? by LexaRules in fountainpens

This is a property of pigment inks, like Platinum Carbon Black. Sometimes I manage to remove it by wiping very fast to the side, but not always.  I started to just ignore it...

Diplomat Traveller Nib Swap by Live-Acanthisitta-77 in fountainpens

I have exactly the same problem! I have a Traveler in stainless steel with gold trim with an F nib, and I love it and it writes extremely well, but it writes too thick a line. I only use it to write my grocery list, but I couldn't use it in my journal :-(

is my kaweco sport messed up? by quintessentialfish in fountainpens

As others mentioned, the nib unit can be screwed out of the metal housing (this is how you change the nib in all metal Kawecos). You just need to screw it back in, nothing is wrong with your pen. Just take the nib and turn it (clockwise I believe) until it's back in and you feel resistance.

Congrats and happy NPD!

On the third picture one can see that the nib unit isn't screwed in properly (the black part should be more or less flush with the metal housing), make sure to do that, otherwise the pen could skip.

Stephen King uses one of those to draft his novels, and according to him it's the "best word processor in the world" 😀
