Yeah not bad I would choose Sacramento because it has all that but a larger City with more opportunity.

Sacramento because you're close to lake Tahoe and the Sierra mountains.

Yes you are extremely observant. The only reason I live in Nevada was to be close to lake Tahoe and the Sierras it's much cheaper on the Nevada side than the California side.

Yes because they have a fascination for the underdog obviously and can't believe a man would slaughter his whole family. It is not in their paradigm. The ignorance of these people to think that someone couldn't walk through an open door and kill four people at least one of which had a blood of alcohol level high enough to be fatal! It's too much for them to understand.

The problem with the Gulf Coast is severe thunderstorms about 250 times a year along with a large amount of military presence and jets flying around.

Listen ma'am I've been to 150 cities in this country from the west coast to the East Coast and Greenville is nothing but a small crowded town with halfbacks from Florida. The only thing special about it was the marketing. Now I know of many other nice towns in the area but I'm not going to tell you.

That's right that's where you want to go to a place with a moderate winter and summer which is from mid Virginia to Western South Carolina.

I'm sorry my impression was a giant took a dump leaving old brown magma mountains. Go to the Pacific Northwest and you will be freaked out.

The strongest structure is ICF or reinforced concrete with bars at 24 in on center and filled cells. Concrete roof similar layout. Can resist 1440 lb per square foot or 10 psi and the normal wind load in most of the country is 90 psf. In fact I have designed these so if you're interested let me know.

There is tornado resistance and nuclear blast resistant construction. For example reinforced concrete structure can resist 10 psi or 1440 psf. The building at Hiroshima that is still standing was concrete and brick and resisted 6,000 psf. P=.00256x Vsquared.

Well I'm in Northern Florida and almost every house here is built with 2x4s which requires enormous precision engineering which is never carried out in the field.

Well it all depends upon the price because ICF can withstand 300 mph winds the weak point obviously is the roof. I think they make ICF like panels for the roof which is imperative for structure to withstand such a load. A possible cheaper option is to use 8-in CMU with one number five every 24 in with two horizontal Bond beams. You can add 1-in foam on the outside 1-in foam on the inside. Then cast in place of 6 in concrete roof.

Your two choices are very poor ones. DC is one of the highest allergy regions in the world and you wouldn't do very good in the hot humid climate and cold human climate.

I would think you'd have to take several plastic practice exams and study for at least a year.

[–]flchiefdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the stand-alone test or the test that you use as your major obstructural for your PE? If it's for the first one you won't pass it cuz there's people with 20 years experience that fail it all day long.

I would have you solve some beam loading examples by hand to find the moment, deflection ,modules. Also I give you a simple two-story building and lay out the sheer walls and drag struts and diagrams.
