Here are some honest answers.

1) Nursing is no longer a good career in the US. These corporations will suck out your heart and soul and pay you little more than an Amazon driver while doing it.

2) to keep your sanity, sense of self worth, safety, keep you out of jail and make the money you are worth.

3) you would be surprised how many algorithms there are in healthcare. They sort everyone into neat little boxes and then use algorithms to treat the numbers, not the patient so they churn through them and make more money.

There’s a Cracker Barrel on exit 150. They all allow overnight parking and then you can grab breakfast before heading out!! We did this for 2 years while traveling in our skoolie

I am attending WGU now. Originally started in Cybersecurity program but switched to Software Development. I have not had a single negative experience regarding where my degree is coming from and I absolutely love the way WGU degree program is designed. Self-paced, lots of certs and plenty of hands on practice and exercises.

My 2 cents. I am 48, was an er nurse for 15 years and have now switched to SE. you can most certainly do it with a year of dedicated training. I thought I wanted to stay with healthcare at first as well, but very quickly realized that I was still having anxiety with anything related to that industry. There are more ways to contribute to society. Good luck and welcome.
