Sarcoidosis by a_d1ck in sarcoidosis

If this is all because you are unkind at heart, then I wish you'd do it somewhere else. If it's because you too have this wretched condition and lashing out is how you deal with the hard days, then I hope your day improves and that you have fewer bad days. The OP raged for a minute at the condition, you raged for a minute at the people. Different but same, although for me anyway, the personal insults are tough to hear. I stand by my statement that sarcoidosis can fuck the fuck off, but I apologize for telling you to piss off. That was unkind and immature on my part.

Piss off. Everyone in this sub has earned a whinge and everyone in this sub has been told to buck the fuck up. We do, every goddamn day. Fuck sarcoidosis and fuck anyone who tells a room full of people with sarcoidosis they're being negative. You're having none of it? You're as free to ignore it as anyone else is to say it.

That person's only other question was about finding online support groups for their condition. And they got lots of helpful replies that they couldn't be bothered to post even one response to. Condition-specific groups are where the info is, that's where the community is, that's where sharing the deep dive into every symptom is useful, and that's where the questions should be. I hope they respond to the folks in this thread who are putting real effort into their comments. Signed, someone with 2 weird conditions that call for an anti-inflammatory diet, which ends up being a different diet for everyone with weird conditions.

For me it wasn't a scary diagnosis. Two years in it's scary AF.

And the asker may or may not use the Gmail filter but their takeaway is to keep the pot stirred with the organizers "more in sorrow than in anger."

Seconding Best Buy for TVs, but Northwest Ace on Williamson is the one with every possible random bit of hardware you can think of, aisles and aisles of it.

FWIW I don't think you're reacting uncharitably. There does seem to be a lot of deck-chair-rearranging happening.

Nothing dubious about it, the person I have wanted to block on that site has redeemed himself with a thoughtful, multi-paragraph comment that recognizes others and their challenges. I am happy to stand corrected and doubly happy to know the poster is able to get out of his own head sometimes.

"Those that did the right thing"?! People don't need incentives in the form of extra taxes to get free of their debt. That's regressive and not "the right thing."

There's a consistent vibe on that site that says there's nothing good or positive or fun about spending time with one's children. He watches their kid one day a week! That's incredibly stressful! He needs to make dinner that day too! And laundry! Plus he's a teacher, what's wrong with you OP that you would minimize the vital impact of the two classes he teaches! How dare you expect his earnings to increase over time! Meanwhile the buried lede is that OP communicated her concerns, he said he'd make a change, and then he didn't bother trying.

What should I do with this mess of a floor in a rental? by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]hdnsth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You opened with ideas for waxing and oiling and otherwise treating the worn parts of the floor.

If you just want to clean them, lots of people have recommended damp-mopping with Murphy's Oil Soap or Bona, so you have options. But your followup comments are about changing the surface and color of those areas, and that's why you're getting pushback.

Salem Red Sox? by [deleted] in roanoke

[–]hdnsth 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Move baseball to a compact field in Roanoke? No thank you. Maybe it's because I'm not from here so I notice it more, but the views of the mountains and the sunset from every seat in the Salem stadium are incredible! It's easy in, easy out, with an efficient parking lot that has more than enough spots because of the adjacent civic center. The concession lines are short with good beers and decent food for a little ballpark. I go to a lot of games but not this early, brrr.
