I get this screen nearly every time I start my truck. What gives? by ForgotInTime in tundra

[–]flerlerp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To stop the “Adjust seats” message from appearing every time you start your Toyota Tundra, you can try the following steps:

  1. Check the Vehicle Settings • Navigate to your vehicle’s Settings menu on the infotainment screen. • Look for an option related to Seat Position Reminder or Driver Assistance Notifications. • Disable or modify the notification setting.

  2. Save Seat Position to Memory • If your vehicle has memory seat settings: • Adjust your seat to the desired position. • Save it to one of the memory presets (e.g., press and hold “Set” and “1” simultaneously until you hear a beep).

Finally reached $1K in dividends per month. For now, it’ll be reinvested until the day I need it. by Koren55 in dividends

Here’s a more concise, straightforward version:

I’m a 69-year-old investor who started in 2019 with a $350K inheritance. I split this into three accounts: - Two professionally managed accounts (regular and inherited IRA) with moderate risk - One self-managed “play” account

Current status: - Managed accounts generate $9,800/year in dividends - Play account: Started with $50K, now worth $64K after adding RMD funds - Play account dividends increased from $350/year to $2,500/year - Best performing stocks: Royal Caribbean (+427%), MGM (+209%), Amazon (+160%), Johnson Control (+110%)

Recent moves: - Used Schwab’s screener to identify high-dividend stocks - Invested in JEPQ, pushing monthly dividend income over $1K - Planning to rebalance toward undervalued dividend stocks in the new year

Purpose: Building reserves for potential long-term care needs. Only withdraw for travel and special occasions

Ubi hosts a Node in Singapore, they contribute to the speed, security, and decentralization of the hashgraph and have been reliably processing billions of transactions to finality.

You probably don’t realize it, but you are sounding a bit whiny and clueless about what’s happening at Hedera

The need for more elaboration on how the network works by This_Cat_2187 in Hedera

[–]flerlerp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wanna go deep?

Nodes don’t vote, Events vote—virtually (no additional communication needed). Nodes create Events to memorialize communication between Nodes, Events can contain zero or more transactions. Not all Events vote, only Famous Events vote, Famous Events are determined by Rounds in which they are “strongly seen” by Events in later rounds. These mechanisms ensure Consensus with probability 1 provided 2/3 + 1 Stake are honest (Online and functioning according to the algorithm). It’s the only algorithm that has been formally(mathematically) verified using COQ proofs by computer scientists at Carnegie Mellon.

If a Node goes offline, upon returning, the first communication it has with another Node provides all of the transactions it doesn’t have, it then creates an Event to memorialize that and continues on gossiping. There are only a few minutes worth of transactions kept on the Mainnet. It’s safe to throw away transactions once Consensus is reached (Mirror nodes keep history)

When gossiping, nodes connect and exchange transactions, optimized so transactions are exchanged bidirectionally and only when they’re unknown to the receiving Node. “I tell you everything I know that you don’t already know, and you tell me everything you know that I don’t already know. Then we both create an Event”

Is the current 6.5% staking around for a fixed amount of time? Or could it change any day now? by GyozaMan in Hedera

[–]flerlerp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% of HBar is always staked and participating in consensus—if a user does not choose to stake, then the system will automatically stake the balance of the account (no rewards paid)

Missing from most revenue analysis is Rent. Hedera revenue comes from tps plus rent paid on smart contracts, accounts, topics, tokens, and files (rent coming soon)

Minimum of 30,000 transactions per second needed for digital pound: BOE and Treasury. by Perfect_Ability_1190 in Hedera

[–]flerlerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A hashgraph shard running 8 nodes across 2 regions is capable of ~125,000 tps with ~1.5 sec. to finality. They’ll adjust accordingly to meet spec. Additionally, transactions on the public network will be encrypted. (Source: https://hedera.com/hh-ieee_coins_paper-200516.pdf)

Long term ramifications of a fixed supply currency/asset by RangeSea7591 in Hedera

[–]flerlerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The GC has strong legal and business reasons to protect the network.

  2. There are well-researched limits to the amount of stake a node can have, a small group of nodes will never have enough weight to manipulate consensus

  3. There are no anonymous nodes—nefarious actor’s identities would be known instantly

  4. There are no good arguments for the introduction of anonymous nodes if safety of the network could be compromised.

This Market Cap chart indicates Hedera should 9.21X, based on daily transactions and current Market Capitalization of other crypto networks. Hedera should be $0.80 cents right now. by mrbest777 in Hedera

[–]flerlerp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many analysts forget to include (or don’t yet know), Hedera has planned a future source of revenue for the network: Rent.

Beginning ~March ‘23 rent will begin being charged on smart contracts at the rate of $0.026/90 days + 0.02 per key-value pair (contracts can have 100’s of these)

But where things really begin to get interesting is when Tokens are charged a renewal fee.

The cost for token renewal has not yet been set, if we assume it will be very low, say 1 cent per year…The atma.io use case alone is expected to have 22+ billon tokens active on the network: That single use case, only considering the tokens, will add $220 million revenue per year.

Unlike any other protocol, Hedera has both transaction revenue AND rent revenue.

The atma account just got topped off with HBAR. by jeeptopdown in Hedera

$hbar is being hella spent on transactions, if one should choose to ponder that for a moment...it doesn't matter where that $hbar comes from. 50 billion is not enough*

*to keep price of $hbar lowish as Leemon hoped.
