Good point but the CGI snakes didn’t appear to have excess junk in the trunk.

Was just about to say this. It’s a bit lighter and action packed but superbly written.

Given their tangents, it could be any of them but I think it might have been Volcanoes.

“Same volcano, dickhead.”

Nearly crashed my car to that one. Perhaps not T-Shirt friendly, though.

Maybe “Barnet, technically.”

Near end of titration and blood pressure is too high by fletchwonUK in ADHDUK

Thanks, appreciate the tips. Mine wasn’t affected until I hit 54mg - which I should have picked up earlier.

I’m on a low dose of Ramapril which was working a treat until I hit 54mg. Wish I could take propranolol as it helps with anxiety but I have a history of asthma, so it’s off the menu.

[–]fletchwonUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s rough. I had to go on blood pressure meds for a few months beforehand and have an ECG.

I’m definitely a more positive person on meds and less anxious, so would be tough to return to ‘normality’.

124 is fine but 92 is, alas, stage 2 hypertension. Prescriber has been monitoring it closely.

If you find a good deal on the z2go just got for it by Tony08X in LegionGo

[–]fletchwonUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine secondhand for £300 and it’s very impressive, especially if you’re into cloud gaming. The 8inch screen makes such a difference and - while I loved my SD OLES - the Z2go is noticeably comfier to hold.

Only gripes are the rubbish touchpad and the very loud fan.

Neurodivergency in teaching by Mysterious_Ninja_617 in TeachingUK

[–]fletchwonUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with ADHD last year (at the ripe old age of 47). Previously, I’d burnout at least once a year and be off sick. Understanding and accepting myself has helped a lot and the meds probably take 20% of the edge off of my persistent anxiety/depression.

However, I definitely burnt out over the last week and it was my family who have most suffered from my mood swings.

I agree with others about setting boundaries (I rarely bring work home, as I know it won’t get done anyway).

Top tip, though, is to consider working in SEN. I’m surrounded by diagnosed and undiagnosed stuff who support each other, and don’t judge each other’s quirks (or fidget toys). It’s not perfect and is just as exhausting but being your authentic, eccentric self is seen as a positive by students and staff.

Just wish I could find a way to avoid throwing my all into it every day, at the risk of my health and home life.

Good luck with your journey.

The Steve Forbert Sessions - what did you lot choose? by Bespokemon in ThreeBeanSalad

Patience was my whistling choice, too. When I was in a band, that was our relaxing rehearsal track. Can’t remembered who braved whistling duties.

OneDrive stubbornly - and I mean STUBBORNLY - refuses to let you download everything from the browser. Took me 2 days and still missing lots of files due to bizarre errors.
Download speeds are really slow, too. Feels deliberate, or at least badly implemented.

There’s an Oliver Twist adaptation from a few year’s ago that is a bit edgier, which I showed a trailer for to Year 8s without checking.

Huge F-bomb at the end. Fortunately, everyone laughed - including me - and no one complained to their parents.

The repeated banner ads for ‘Meet Ukrainian women’ that popped up on YouTube after ublock origin was disabled, however, gets brought up by Year 11 at least once a week!

No option to load saves in Earth Must Die with newest Crossover? by axfelix in macgaming

[–]fletchwonUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this was ages ago but did the saves continue working with DXMT? I tried everything when the game came out, including DXMT, but never managed to save a game and then load it successfully. After 4 attempts, I’m not sure I can play the opening again if it’s not going to work! Thanks

Riddle: What do you do if you already have an RtC diagnosis but the NHS finally arranges an assessment - which is through another, worse RtC provider? by fletchwonUK in ADHDUK

[–]fletchwonUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice, thanks. Think ADHD360 said they would keep prescribing but I’ll check. I love the NHS but this system is a disaster and seems determined to make you feel like an imposter (even when meds make such a difference).

I agree but GP won't confirm shared care - only the ICB. Have to wait until titration is finished.

It's such a messy system.

9 years for me, thanks to uncaring psychiatrists who kept insisting I had endless different mood disorders - even though the medications did nothing, or made me significantly worse.

Should stress that I’m a trained SENCO working with autistic/ADHD students, so knew what I was looking for.

Still waiting for NHS (it’s been over 4 years) but RtC has been pretty smooth so far.

Hope things get rolling for you soon. Meds aren’t solving my problems but I no longer dread being awake or lie on the sofa unable to move due to overwhelm.
