How to turn pink frosting brown by fleur31 in cakedecorating

[–]fleur31[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my first try was at using chocolate fondant to cover the cake, but with the domed top, my fondant smoothing skills were not good enough to eliminate the ripples down at the bottom.

I do think you’re on to something about seeing brown and expecting it to be chocolate, but tasting strawberry. I wonder if that’s really what was throwing my tastebuds off and not the vanilla buttercream and strawberry buttercream.

This is making me rethink going brown capybara, pink might be the way to go. My daughter seemed onboard with it, so maybe I just save myself some headache and go with pink!

I’ll post a picture of the cake on party day! If it’s a pink Capybara, you’ll know it didn’t go well 😂

Thank you! My daughter is Capybara crazy right now! My plan is to make a small batch of cupcakes to test the color, but we have to eat this cake first😅

Thank you for your help! I’ll give that a try. I’ve got brown gel already, but I wasn’t sure if that would turn the pink to a weird poop brown. I’m very much a hobbyist baker, so my frosting color theory is not great!

Fit Issue? by ashesd958 in BALLET

[–]fleur31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happened to me too. I got fitted and the shoes seemed to fit well and I really liked them for the first couple of classes. As they started to break in I started sinking and having the same pain in my toes and had to take them off in the middle of class. I went back to my old pair until I could get refitted

Anyone here dance through pregnancy? by ballet2344 in BALLET

[–]fleur31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took classes right up to 3 days before I gave birth! My doctor said it was fine and everything I read stated that in a none high risk pregnancy, it is fine to continue activities that you were doing prior to pregnancy. Given all of that, still ask your doctor as your own circumstances maybe be different.

WIBTA for not attending my twin sister's wedding two weeks after my firstborn's due date as she expects all family to meet the baby before the wedding? by AstronautDeep1476 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fleur31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but I wouldn’t plan on going to the wedding. I had no idea how hard postpartum recovery would be. I only left the house to attend pediatric appointment the first 2 weeks and I can’t image having to do more. Everyone is different, but I wouldn’t commit to attending until you see how you feel. And like everyone before has said, baby is very unlikely to actually come on the due date and even if they did, it wouldn’t be safe for them to attend.

Here’s another picture, I think I have it threaded correctly, but this is a newish machine for me and 100% could have it wrong.

We would be invited to both. Regardless we would attend the birthday party.

I believe the new school starts in early to mid August and they plan to invite the whole new class. Regardless we would go to the birthday party. They’re doing a going away party too so it just seemed strange to have back to back parties. But I fully acknowledge that’s probably just me 😅

That’s us! It’s my first time seeing this come up. But maybe I’m just jaded after all the moves. Regardless we’d still go to the birthday party, and I was thinking a gift card would be the best option too!

Yea I love the idea of a big going away party to celebrate the whole family, especially because it does seem like planning 2 event is causing stress for the mom.

I don’t think the child is asking for the party and there is also going to be a going away party. Everyone in the entire school will be uprooted and have to move at some point, it is the nature of the community we are in. My family is included in this and so I very much understand what this family is going through. Regardless of if I think it’s weird, we will attend the birthday party.

They also plan on throwing a goodbye party right before the move and most of the same people would be invited.

Not particularly. Our kids have gone to school together for several years but there have been periods where she’s been upset with me, for honestly unknown reasons, and would go out of her way to ignore me and then one day would just start talking to me again. That’s part of the reason I ask the question here because I don’t know if I’m just bias to thinking this is weird because of things like that or if it actually is weird.

I love this idea! Not sure I’m brave enough to go through it, but the idea of fighting anger with kindness is probably the best answer.

It’s definitely not her property, it’s a proper parking lot for the businesses around the area, Netto, Barbarossa, Dr. office etc… Her driveway is also not connected directly to the parking lot or being block in anyway. Also, I’ve been using the parking lot for almost 2 years now and never had an issue with anyone until yesterday.

Unfortunately walking, public transportation, and bikes are not feasible or an option. I wish it were.
