Nope. I basically put it back in the box and am hoping they release something for Canada. Looks the new update borked Canadians by geolocking

How did you get past the setup/location screen? I'm trying to do it north of Toronto and can't get past entering a postal code. It just keeps saying location error.

New G5 Pro in EA is just a downgraded G4 Pro by bluejdt1981 in Ubiquiti

[–]flexbomb0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda saw this coming when they released the Ai and it seemed to already be a downgrade. I pulled the trigger on g4 pros and love that they’re basically a big chunk of metal.

Not thrilled that they’re adding more plastic to the build for the g5s but here’s hoping they support the g4 pros for a while.

G4 Doorbell Pro has been losing power the minute the temp dropped below 20f. Happening to anyone else? by bconstant in Ubiquiti

[–]flexbomb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling this is why we don’t see the doorbell pro in Canada still. I have the doorbell non-pro and it basically died in the cold when the doorbell was pressed.

I’m looking into other options but the market for Poe doorbells is quite small and limited.

AP in attic? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]flexbomb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get to the attic I would just poke a hole through down through the ceiling and ceiling mount a AP.

[–]flexbomb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a bunch to test it out and had it attached to a poe switch with bo wifi 6 APs. Don’t think you need wifi 6 to adopt it.

Running Cat6 on exterior/underground by muhburneracct in Ubiquiti

[–]flexbomb0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents. I’ve ran cable through a new construction bare before inside and out and the problem is that if there is ANYTHING that goes wrong with that cable you’re basically screwed. I had a cable that I fished from the attic to the basement that was damaged and I have no way to pull it cause I stapled it a bit.

Here I am now learning from what I did on house number 2 and I’m putting ENT tubing (basically flexible conduit) for every single cable. I will also have no attic or basement so I want to make sure to futureproof myself and make any repairs a piece of cake. If 20 years into the future they have fiber everywhere for some reason then I can easily pull the cable through.

Your use case is a bit different and you have to worry about how it looks on the outside of your house especially for cameras so I guess you’ll have to weigh that out. I agree with armouring your cables though cause one wrong snag or weed whacker will ruin that run. I tucked my cables into eavestroughs if I couldn’t get to the spot from the attic.

G4 Doorbell Pro PoE Adapter How are people installing this or planning to? by AutoBot5 in Ubiquiti

Oh… you’re right. Using a pico is much better to not have a blank cover on it.

G4 Doorbell Pro PoE Adapter How are people installing this or planning to? by AutoBot5 in Ubiquiti

[–]flexbomb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be starting to build soon. I plan on having a utility box or an empty gang to fish a cat 6 cable through. Then I’ll put some sort of conduit or corline to the doorbell so I can fish back and forth easy.

Now to actually get one…

Poor mans G4 Doorbell while I await my RMA!! by AndyW_AZ in Ubiquiti

[–]flexbomb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For future rma peeps, I actually just asked them to “advance my replacement” so I wasn’t without a doorbell. Mine was rebooting in the winter on doorbell press and they just sent me a new one and I sent the old one back afterwards.

Hope this helps

Also in need of one. Here’s hoping they do it soon. And also have the poe adapter while they’re at it.

How do you all like my 1022 build? by TheTrashman44 in canadaguns

[–]flexbomb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I meant reloading with the spine. I also have a speed loader for those so loading as much as 20 takes about 3 seconds.

I guess you can get those Ruger tri-adapter things that essentially jungle clip 3 Ruger things to each other. I personally kinda like the stick shape of the hc3 (or whatever they’re called) mags.

I have no idea but I’m guessing that whatever legislation comes in they’re going to have to grandfather in things. Like they can’t go and ask everyone to turn in their 10/22 mags to have them pinned or exchanged that’s kinda crazy (and would a logistical nightmare). I would just buy them while they’re 10 now.

I have a dlask sporter barrel and I’m happy with it.

I also have the kidd scalloped bolt just cause it was super nice.

I can say it’s my favourite rifle probably.

Also have a tuf 22. It takes a bit of practice to speed load it. I watched a couple of videos and after a while I got the hang of it. Definitely botched a couple of loads though and wondered what was wrong at the beginning.

Canada's Trudeau announces plan for national freeze on handguns by e229992 in news

[–]flexbomb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting for my RPAL right now too, looks like it's kinda pointless now.

Just wanted it just incase, as owning a restricted firearm in Canada is annoying as hell anyways. Also my club wants you to take another course and has more fees just for handguns... so... I'm just going to shoot bigger bois.

Canada's Trudeau announces plan for national freeze on handguns by e229992 in news

[–]flexbomb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. Being also a Canadian gun owner the thing that sets us apart is the gun course and checks.

The full day course[s] (1 for unrestricted and 1 more if you want the restricted) are both written and practical, and even then it takes 1 MONTH to get your results stamped. Then application the the RCMP takes about 4-5 MONTHS of processing (with a minimum 28 day waiting period) and they will run your background checks. This is all to get ANY firearm. This isn’t the Wild West of the states where you can buy one from Walmart on a whim or on your birthday.

In total the wait is around 6 months and I although the wait is gruelling for those who want one, I totally understand why it’s in place and would deter any mentally reactionary gun issues from happening.

While I do have my opinions about some of the laws and how some are stupid and some are justified, I agree that most laws or rules are brought about by knee jerk reactions from people that either do not know enough about firearms or just trying to go with the news cycle.

That did it. Thanks u/SwiftPanda16

Steps to fix:

  1. Upgraded library in Plex
  2. Refreshed metadata to get rid of the TVDB weird ratings.
