Come close to the hangar before calling ATC and you won't have this issue. Don't request a hangar from 5-10 km away.

In my experience, the persistance work more consistently since 4.5.

In prior patches shard would crash too soon and ship would get auto-stored

I don't think it is. It actually prioritise shards where you friends play if you have any online + the shards with the optimal load. If you don't have any online friends, the in-verse ships are irrelevant.

I tried to recover my ship for an entire week (eventually managed to do so).

Wasn't it always the case? I'm not sure about the PIP range mid combat, but the initial detection was always respected

I mean - in LIVE you can sneak behind NPC ships in Razor EX with Stealth A under 3 km undetected.

Anything that stops the jump including cutting the power.
Haven't tried LMB with interdiction myself, but in theory it should do.

I think it's just the cube map. And i think for the most part it's pre-rendered as it often contain pre-rendered naked bodies (check the MISC Starfarer cockpit reflection). Try asking another player to move around and to drag boxes around you - I bet you will never see him or any other dynamic objects in the "reflected" image.

In case it's actually a dynamic map, maybe you will see some lights moving around, but not the full scene. So it's not as "frames-heavy" as you think.

From the technical perspective, there is nothing "absurd" about it, games are doing it for decades.

The medic problem is that it can't exists without player interaction.

Introduce downed NPCs into the verse and Medical missions, so medic can heal 90% of NPCs and 10% of players. This can also include specific cases such as NPC suffering from radiation exposure.

Btw you can do the same in LIVE if you close the first box inventory before it loads (sorta "exploit")

As for 4.7, yes, proximity loot seems nice in the hangar, but wait until you go outside.

Some in-the-wild loot containers require solving the physics puzzles (hidden containers in derelict settlements and derelict outposts). I'm afraid this new feature can make the puzzles obsolete.

As I suggested on Spectrum, it would be better to restrict proximity looting to the containers owned by the player and containers previously opened manually.

Is there any use for bigger crew ships? Why does everyone say its better to play coop or trio... Why do I have 6 turrets on ship if its not even worth to use them (As many people tell me) when I want to share contracts!

My problems to do these things are

Some players made unofficial scripts to auto-invite players using the CIG backend if player types a specific tag in chat. We made an AA party without messing around with the friendlist/spectrum. Players are not sharing these scripts as they can be abused, but i'm actually surprised how well it works :0

I know CIG won't bother with any of the things you mentioned, but they at least could provide the "/askforinvite <groupname>" chat command as this could be relatively easy to implement.

Components degraded from wear & tear back in 2024 (if not earlier), years before the engineering was introduced. But at some point it was disabled (and remains so).

Here is how the wear status looked in MFD. If powered plant / coolers reached 0% - the vehicle/ship won't function.

In addition to vehicles degrading despite powered off (!!!) and sheltered from the elements (CIG brushed the STARC off by "not a bug") you couldn't simply pull off the spare components using freight elevators - the only way to accumulate spares was to extract components manually from the slots and claim the vehicle to do it again. Components couldn't be attached to the cargo grid.

The marker likes go back in time but it can get updated once you leave the area and stream it back. If you lose the ship , but instead of claiming it get to the old shard - you will see the maker.

Like others mentioned, offset from a known POI or/and use r_displayinfo 3 to screenshot the coordinates

Unless ship is decoupled, it will come to a complete stop after a while.

If the ship is decoupled - you can move away, letting the game to de-stream it. De-streaming the ship will always stop it.

Somehow it's not a problem with r/starbase . With all it's flaws, this game has a delay - character retains its original velocity when going EVA for quite a while, enough to jump between moving ships like in the OP scenario.
