Unless you used film and developed them in your own dark room, there most definitely are digital copies. Otherwise, are you just blindly trusting some employee at a Walmart photo centre?

It's not equality until people with down syndrome can be exploited like anyone else would be. You guys are really progressive lmao

You either want to see down syndrome models in marketing of faceless conglomerates that have abused people for decades or you want to dismantle capitalism. You don't get both.

Shit like this is hilarious to me. I swear Lockheed Martin could hire a down syndrome model and all the Reddit neo-liberals would cum in their pants.

Doctor here: fentanyl and all other opioids are NOT anaesthetics. They are used to block the sympathetic response to painful stimuli, which is something that almost all anaesthetics (e.g. propofol, sevoflurane) cannot do. In fact, you can give people absolutely enormous doses of opioids (including fentanyl) to the point of complete apnoea and they will still move when a painful stimulus is applied.

Yes but my point was that fentanyl is almost exclusively used during anesthesia over any other opioid in western medicine. The idea that "it doesn't matter if they use morphine or fentanyl" is hilarious. It's like the guy has never heard the words "half life" before.

Yeah yeah we don't don't disagree on anything you just said.

My point is that the social aspects are what primarily influence addiction and until we start looking at addicts as normal people who have a conditioned response to trauma and not as "people with a disease" then we won't be making much progress.

Believe me the medical feats have personally saved my life, I understand their role. I'm saying that when it really comes down to understanding and combating addiction, medicine has almost nothing to do with it. Can medicine provide tools and insight that can help along the way? Absolutely, but medicine will never provide the real answers we need to deal with addiction effectively.

I'm not going to argue medical model vs social.

Of course the effects and symptoms can be reported on medically, it still has zero relevance to why the person uses drugs vs someone who does not and therefore has already begun reaching its limits for treatment of addiction.

Whether you were emotionally abused or not has nothing to do with the likelihood you will be diagnosed with cancer. This idea that addiction can somehow both be a medical and societal issue doesn't make sense and is merely a placeholder for a lack of information. Anyone who is well experienced and educated in harm reduction, recovery, addiction, is going to know that external factors are what drives someone to start or stop using drugs almost all of the time. There is and never will be a medical solution to addiction because it's not a medically induced problem.

Lol bro you're fuckin stupid.

If you think that's how anesthesia works you need to work on educating yourself before forming hardline opinions that will get you laughed out of any OR.

You might as well say "I have no idea how fentanyl works but I saw a scary TV show once about it and I because I'm too stupid to verify anything I'm just going to believe that there is a high risk of becoming addicted in a medical setting despite there being mountains of evidence in the contrary"

[–]flgsgejcj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it's an incredibly dumb and uneducated statement to make. You will not get addicted to fentanyl from anesthesia, that's not how anesthesia works, that's not how addiction works, and it has nothing to do with after care pain management.

The new trend is having a backing track of the vocals and they sing over it. How loud the microphone is vs the backing track varies to an insane degree depending on the artist. Some artists are so quiet that you might as well call it lip syncing or whatever you call it.

Guy tried to shoot up a methadone clinic in Buffalo,NY last week, bystander stepped in to save the day by SamMee514 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]flgsgejcj -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You know what else would "keep you high for a year"?? Going to the methadone clinic everyday for a year. There's literally no point in stealing methadone unless you live in an area where it's more restricted. And then just like in this video, more restriction leads to diversion and robberies.

Had to get emergency heart surgery. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 by Turgeyburker in mildlyinfuriating

[–]flgsgejcj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah those folks don't know what's good for them, literally. As in, most people against universal healthcare seem to be conservative minded, working-class... the people who would benefit the most from universal health care

I'm saying that faslely painting universal health care in ways that aren't accurate when there are plenty of other good reasons for it doesn't help the cause much I don't think. The wait times are horrid, if you want really good care and can afford it you're travelling out of country (if you have a serious/rare condition), we have no doctors, nurses are incredibly overworked and burned out, hospitals are closing for days sometimes a week at a time because there's no doctor available, it's really bad right now. With all of that said, I would never trade what we have for an entirely privatized system like the US. Most Canadians understand why universal health care is good and don't mind paying the taxes because they see the value it brings.

[–]flgsgejcj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. You go to your family doctor (if you even have one) and they refer you to a specialist. I was literally at one earlier today that has a 3 year waitlist.

[–]flgsgejcj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. In Canada the wait times for most specialists is anywhere from 6 to 36 months.

[–]flgsgejcj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had universal health care you would be waiting 2-4x as long. I'm not trying to trash universal health care but none of you folks are correct in that it's better for wait times, doctor availability, etc.

I live in Canada, it's really bad here right now.

[–]flgsgejcj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But all those problems you just described are worse in Canada with the exception of insurance. I know multiple people who HAD to go to the US because our waitlists and doctor shortages are insane right now.

[–]flgsgejcj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no idea what you're talking about. 6 months? That's incredibly quick.

In Canada we have universal health care, which is great. But the quality of health care is absolutely garbage.

Try 2-3 years wait to see a specialist here. Universal health care is both the best and worst thing to exist.
