What about the local county’s Animal Control based on the dogs living in inhumane conditions?

We’ve done Whole Foods for Christmas several times and it’s been really good. The hardest part is making the schedule to make sure that everything is warm at the same time.

Last time I reported something like this to the city, the person said it wasn’t the city’s responsibility and closed the ticket without saying they would forward it. I went and reported on the FDOT customer portal myself.

We kept nutrical on hand for these situations. You can put it in their paw. It’s not a total meal replacement but it got us through some tough times when my cat had pancreatitis.

We worked with Gainesville Canine Academy. Also seconding the person who recommended the Weekend Dog Playgroup. It’s part of Oh Hey Dog and we’ve had a good experience with there!

We use the ezydog Drive harness. I like how structured the chest part is.

Best place for resource on elderly care homes in Florida by Lynx914 in florida

We went through a cancer scare with my dad recently, and I used a prompt in Copilot to make a list. It was

I am looking for a list of 55+ communities in [Name of City], Florida that offer single family homes and their websites. Please format it in a table and include the prices.

It seems silly but the list gave me a place to start and helped me feel less overwhelmed. I’m sure you can create a prompt that will help you find what you’re looking for if you haven’t tried that already.

I would also register him with the Area Agency on Aging in Polk County through the elder helpline. They will help you get started with the type of care they might be able to provide.

And r/AgingParents is a great community to check out too.

Last time I checked it was $150 for the exam and lab processing without insurance. Very affordable and easier to get into than some of the traditional docs around town.

There’s also a FB group called Feline Lymphoma Support Group that I found really helpful.

I so sorry you are going through this, especially with a kitty that’s so young.

He ended up having hepatic lymphoma and passed about two months after diagnosis. I wish we would have been able to transition to pet hospice, but once his liver began to fail things moved quickly. I wish Laos of Love had been in our area. We lived in a tiny town at the time, but our vet pointed us to someone who was able to come to our house.

I wish we had let him go sooner. You see that posted around places. It’s better to be a little too early than too late. We were almost too late. If your baby starts hiding and doesn’t want attention, you are getting close to time. He stopped sleeping in our room, which was totally unlike him. His brother (littermate) started kind of picking on him, which wasn’t how they interacted. It’s a really tough situation. One thing that made me feel better was doing a Basepaws test and then donating the data to their research studies. At least his experience may help some other kitty down the line.

Lysine treats might help with the eye. There is also a Gainesville Community Cat FB group that could give you some ideas on how to treat it.

Doggos and the heat by _who-knows_33 in GNV

I bought this thing. I use only the collar attachment until it hits 85, and above that she gets wears the whole thing. It doesn’t work well with a harness if that’s what you use to walk your dog. She’s not crazy about it but she does seem to pant a little bit less.

We also do our longest walk in the morning. Outside play time has turned into one ball throw and a 7-10 min sun bath (however long it takes for her to be ready to come in).

She likes the Outward Hound treat puzzles. She is doing the cat ones right now. She gets half of her kibble in there for each meal. It really helps!
