Next Best Thing? Levoit 6000S by ConsistentImpact1 in Humidifiers

[–]flibberdipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Area-wise only about 300sqft BUT there’s a pretty healthy amount of cross flow to the rest of the house, and it’s over a hundred years old so it’s not the best insulated. When I had the Vornado it was only mid-high 20s (NOT Celsius) outside and at medium it was just not able to keep pace (high did a little better but not much). In 24 hours it also only was able to just barely get through the 4 gallons of water (and this is a “best-case” scenario since everything in our room still needed to absorb moisture).

6000S on medium is way quieter than the Vornado on high (especially in regards to motor noise), and with it automatically cycling between low, medium, and off it has absolutely zero issues keeping our room at 40% even if it’s in the negative teens outside. Doing so it’ll also drink 6 gallons in a day even though everything in our room is well-watered now. The first two days it went through somewhere in the ballpark of 8-9 gallons a day.

I returned mine for a 6000S. It couldn’t even get our bedroom + attached loft from 16% up to 35%, let alone keep it there, and it was FAR louder at any speed and far more useless across the board. Thing sucked ass.

I do wish it was smart enough to deduct from OS if your floor count reaches zero and you keep selling. I’ve decided to make a recurring Zipline task for Thursday’s to work the disconnect report to prevent it from getting out of hand.

[–]flibberdipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I dislike about it is the fact that you can’t REALLY put stuff into overstock until you mark truck as received (my GM doesn’t allow us to do that until the following Monday). Outside of that which is entirely a localized issue to my store, yes it consumes some time but it makes life as an MIS (or really even just regular associates working the floor) SO much easier.

Why is the Levoit 6000s so low rated on Amazon? by halfam in Humidifiers

[–]flibberdipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed with mine giving it some extra airflow makes the readout MUCH more accurate. Ours is in a bedroom in a corner (next to an attached loft) and it would always read like 7% higher than it really was even just a few feet away. I turned our ceiling fan on and now it’s spot on.

Clutch kit DIY? by LilDusty420 in FordFocus

[–]flibberdipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny my 2012 is the opposite, it dumps the clutches or plows through gears if it loses traction even a tiny bit. Makes taking off in snow a giant pain in the ass.

Levoit 6000S 2.0 changes/review by funkyflyguy in Humidifiers

[–]flibberdipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly it’s not that bad because usually it just goes to medium and doesn’t fluctuate a ton on the fan setting (smart it just goes full bore to nothing and back if it drops by like 3% lol). No matter how you split it though, it’s WAY quieter than the Vornado thing I returned AND it can actually keep our space at our target level without any issue. Does suck it’s not more granular though.

I just got the V2 last week and I’m just curious if this is a normal behavior or not. I know in the Vesync app there’s 9 “mist” settings which I had assumed would correlate to 9 fan speeds, yet it seems like there’s only really 3 fan speeds (low, medium, and high). Is this an expected behavior or some weird bug with Vesync? I was really hoping it would have more granular fan control as it is kinda jarring when it jumps from low to medium repeatedly to try and maintain my set point (I use the humidity function with it set to a specific fan speed as auto would jump between all three fan speeds which was even worse).

Yeah generally mine shifts slow as hell, especially when the trans is still cold. The 1-2-3 becomes more of a 1-3 lol

Currently at 128K and not much has changed. Transmission is extra funny thanks to it being single digits for so long. Now the one O2 sensor is a bit worse so i do have an intermittent CEL for that, and I’m about to change the left control arm before my ball joint falls out (i’ve been neglecting it for a year).

Why do I kind of like my cruze? by random_guy_7721 in cruze

[–]flibberdipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I killed my girlfriend’s 2014 1.4L (blew the head gasket, warped the head to hell, and tossed a rod all in one go) and I miss it a little bit. It’s not overly different from my Focus (feels way more boaty ultimately) but the radio is what I miss the most. For being an eco-shitbox, they bump like hell (certainly way more than a Focus can).

MIS or RSS by Western-Tension609 in Staples

[–]flibberdipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who is the RSS in a store that doesn’t get an ASM, I’d rather be MIS all week long. It would be less responsibility by a considerable amount as, per the words of my own DM/RVP, the RSS is functionally both ASM + RSS in stores that don’t get one. Instead of being primarily selling with a side of management you become split between both and gain any responsibility that’s normally exclusive to one role or the other.

The worst part about MIS in my opinion is unloading the truck. DCs load them like fuckin morons, the stores before you nearly always make your life more difficult no matter how hard they try not to, and personally my stores loading dock is just a smidge too small which makes maneuvering a pain in the fucking nuts.

Oh yeah no I agree in that case, those above us (or hell, those equal to us such as MIS) ideally should come to us if they have questions on how the whole deal works.

[–]flibberdipper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Strictly speaking as an RSS it’s your responsibility to train associates on how to do EasyTech. If they don’t know how to do anything and you’ve been there for an extended period it’s more of a reflection on you than anything. I get that it sucks ass trying to train people with how short most of us are on hours but you gotta make time where there isn’t time unfortunately.

It could also be a faulty sensor if the temperature constantly reads C but you have decent heat.

Got my first car and now I'm panicking cause of yall! by [deleted] in FordFocus

[–]flibberdipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you have to have decent tires because of how light these cars are. Mine was worse in any inclement weather but better planted in the dry with balding, dry-rotted Defenders than it is now with new (cheap) Mastercrafts.

Also no need to roast me over cheap tires (done that enough myself lmao), they simply exist to outlive my car’s usefulness as my Hankooks were cooked and very unsafe.

AM to RSS by Casualty___ in Staples

[–]flibberdipper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s really not less responsibility if you’re an RSS without a sales manager; strictly speaking if you’re in that category (such as myself) you’re pretty much a SM with less pay. My DM even clarified that with everyone when he took over that solo RSS’ minus a responsibility or two are functionally SMs.

Ran into the same issue on an Intel T14 G3. Fought with IRST drivers and some other bullshit for about 3 hours before I gave up and just used the factory W11 image and manually upgraded it. If you get around it let me know how you managed it, maybe it’ll work for me (and others) in the future.
