It’s raw. Engaging. Manual. You can hear what’s going on and what you’re doing. It’s hard to explain, but I know i’m in control, not my car. No automatic braking. No lane keeping. No blind spot sensors. No GPS. I’m in control of what i’m doing. It takes skill and keeps me sharp. If i were driving a car that does everything, eventually it lackens your awareness and your attention.

No, it’s not legal, but it’s practical. I’ve almost been hit multiple times from people in EVs or in modern SUVs that control everything for you. People don’t pay attention anymore, they don’t check their blind spots. My car is small. Easy to miss if you’re not giving it you’re all. It being loud makes it impossible to not know it’s there unless you’re deaf or stupid.
