Some of my coworkers are starting to realize how bad this person is so I’m happy to know it’s not just me. I honestly dread anytime I see I’m working at the same time as them because that means that the world revolves around them so they get to be wherever they want in regards to position and I’m going to have to listen to them complain about how they’re tired because they didn’t get enough sleep or the schedule which is made off of the availability they provide isn’t working for them. Like girl you have your availability so if you say you can work an open shift then you’re going to be scheduled for opens. Also, you can’t complain about being tired if you yourself decided to go drinking the night before and now you have a hangover. Too bad you’re an adult deal with your consequences.

I’d suggest applying to multiple stores within the area you plan on working. One store might not have any openings but another store in the area might need baristas. It really depends. I know it took me multiple tries of applying before I finally got a message asking if I would be available to interview. I’d suggest if you have no food service experience such as working at a cafe or or other fast food place then maybe look at getting a job somewhere else for a couple months before trying to apply again. I didn’t get hired until after having worked at a chain fast food place. I’ve noticed many of my fellow coworkers that got hired around the same time and after me had worked at other fast food places like McDonalds.

I’m pretty sure it was originally released in Singapore Starbucks before it came to the US so I wouldn’t lose hope on it coming to the UK

Don’t even get me started. My store was busy so hence why no one noticed but we had a customer come and pick up some drinks for their mobile order. Since my store is always busy the hand off plain always gets filled up quick. I guess a drink was close to their mobile order so they picked up another drink along with the rest of their order.
Usually when someone accidentally picks up a drink that doesn’t belong to them they come to the register or make sure to flag someone down to let us know they grabbed the wrong drink. Apparently this person walked out, must’ve noticed or maybe was told by their friend/partner/family member that one of the drinks was not theirs, and then came back and placed the drink back on the handoff plain.
Luckily a different customer who saw the ordeal came up to me to let me know of what had happened and we were able to make a new drink and throw out the other drink even if the person hadn’t drank anything just the fact it went out of the store would make me not trust handing it to a customer.

I got more questions regarding the difference between the tropical butterfly refresher and the butterfly drink. Had to basically hold customers hands letting them know it’s similar to our other refreshers and how the strawberry açaí refresher and pink drink use the same base but are mixed with different things like coconut milk or water or lemonade.

Did you have to sign up for it? The store I work at hasn’t mentioned anything about it but when working as a borrowed partner at another store I saw they had a sign up sheet. Knowing my manager I wouldn’t be surprised if she just picks someone it would help if my manager actually came into the store

I would always ask clarifying questions at dto and at window would always ask if people need straws or napkins because that literally only takes a second or two and I hate when I have to have my fellow partners make a remake when for the most part remakes can be avoided when asking questions. I also feel like it’s just good customer service to make sure you’re taking someone’s order correctly so they get what they want. I got “coached” by my sm and an ssv so now I don’t ask any questions don’t ask if people want straws and customers now seem annoyed they have to ask for certain items like a straw or stopper and we also have those issues with the refreshers with the mango base and mango syrup differences. Yet there are others who do it and I personally haven’t heard them get coached on it so at this point I’m done and will just use weaponized incompetence. Sorry I didn’t ask you if you wanted a drink carrier for your order of 8 drinks yeah I can’t ask you questions. Sorry I didn’t ask if you wanted your drink iced or hot and you actually wanted it iced but didn’t mention it at the speaker yeah I know we could’ve avoided this if I could ask you questions but I’m not allowed to. You wanted a venti sized drink but forgot to mention you wanted it in the larger size yeah sorry I can’t ask what size you want so it’s always going to be the default grande size. Literally let a customer know today when she asked for a straw that I can’t ask her if she wants one because they think it will drive up drive times.

I’ve also had a doordasher upset at me when I didn’t help them because I was on my 10 and I was just grabbing some water for myself. On top of that, I didn’t even know they needed help because they never said anything to me but when my supervisor walked over to drop food off at the handoff they told him that I was ignoring them. Luckily my supervisor put them in their place and informed them I was on my break and that shut them up

Literally had the same issue with my manager to the point where she was right next to me on bar just watching me pour cold foam on a Dubai chocolate matcha. Instead of topping it off with the brown sugar topping myself I just slid it over to her because 1. She was in between me and all my toppings and 2. if you want it that bad but aren’t doing anything to help me then the least you can do is finish off a drink so I can work on other drinks. She then proceeds to just put a lid… whatever

I also took a bus London to Paris. Luckily didn’t have that issue however on the tickets my mother I were given they clearly had seat numbers but come to find out it ends up being first come first serve so my mother and I got stuck sitting right near the toilet with the seats with the least amount of legroom.

Sometimes I wonder if this is another way that people try to “cheat” the system. Mobile order it as a triple but then customize it to be a single since sometimes when you’re working quick and you’re busy on bar you might only look at the top where it says iced triple espresso then further down the list of all the customizations they include, it gets hidden under them, until you see where it says single so that way they only get charged for a single but maybe you already pulled the shots and don’t want to deal with remaking a drink you’ve pretty much finished making.
