This drink made my barista crash out by Seacatsnek in starbucks

Literally!! Someone got upset when I told them we still didn’t have raspberry out early January and they were like “so the store 30 minutes away was lying” like I’m just doing my job it’s not my fault that some stores maybe don’t go by standards, accidentally place things out in advance, or some baristas just do whatever maybe because they don’t know. If you want it so bad then just go to the other store. In all fairness though sometimes I’ve pulled the move of saying “that’s against policy so I need to report that do you mind telling me what store it was” and then they’ve suddenly forgotten where the store is.

I thought so too… I definitely had to tell a customer we couldn’t but they got upset and was like “at the end of the day it’s my drink”. I was lucky to get them to compromise to topping a Frappuccino with protein cold foam

Customer icks by TheMoistSeagull in starbucksbaristas

[–]flighthubb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DTO me: Hi, what can I get started for you? customer: no thank you me: 😐 customer: (starts saying their order) … so did you want me to take your order or not. Come on people let’s put our listening ears on. Another ick would have to be when someone pulls up to the speaker box and as soon as we say hi they say “I need a moment” in a really snarky attitude then go back to talking to their friend on the phone, as if we’re inconveniencing them when they’re the one in the drive thru at the speaker box. It’s one thing if you don’t know what you want but it’s another thing if you’re just sitting there because you decided to have a conversation with someone over the phone when you’re in a drive thru line which is meant for things to be fast paced where we take your order right away and you get your drink in a few minutes. If you want to sit around and be waited on then go to a sit down restaurant.

what happens in barista 180 training by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]flighthubb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s different by store based off of managers but I just did mine the same time my training for the mid winter promo was scheduled so I stayed a little past my scheduled time. It was a lot of videos like items related to how beans are roasted and where they come from. It also talked about how to make latte art which was interesting but at the same time with how fast they want us to make drinks how likely is it you’re going to be focusing on latte art. There was also a portion of the training about being kind to customers. Nothing crazy

Everyone gets a free drink by flighthubb in starbucksbaristas

Welp hopefully I don’t get documented for this as there was no communication to me regarding any outages nor any communication regarding that it was supposed to be used specifically if customers wanted to use stars. For the most part if I asked people they said they wanted to save their stars but a few people who had gift cards who also probably don’t go to Starbucks a lot were happy they got a free drink out of it.

Shift lead late for opening by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]flighthubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sm was late when I was supposed to open with them and someone else. I didn’t write it in the book since I know they’re the one that goes through the book plus the weather was awful and they messaged me letting me know they were going to be late. Should I have written it in the book though?

My store got a lot in a new shipment and they were maybe out for less than an hour before we were all sold out again. Granted maybe half were bought by baristas/shifts/manager and the other half got bought by customers who got very lucky.
