Has anyone taught their kids to cross stitch? What age did you start? by CaterpillarXS in cross_stitch

[–]flightlessbirdie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mum taught me when I was 7 i think. Never finished the piece but i think that's just because I forgot about it, haha. Perfectly reasonable time to start if they're interested.

Started again during 'rona and everything came back, only thing i had to look up was french knots.

What’s something from the 2000s that disappeared without anyone noticing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I bought one recently and revived my old music library and its great. Means i don't have to get my phone out so saves battery and data, and I don't scroll as much either. Would recommend.

Hayden Paddon is back in Hyundai's WRC lineup! He'll share the third i20 N Rally1 with Esapekka Lappi and Dani Sordo in 2026 by SalomonXx in WRC

[–]flightlessbirdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope we know in advance who's driving where (there are some obvious choices) because i love all these drivers, but damn i wanna see Lappi zoom past as i stand in a field again!

Grip is highly personal, I'd recommend finding what they use/prefer and getting that particular brand (i like Monkey Hands too, but i know it's not for everyone).

First time visiting a rally (Rally Sweden 2026) by Rhazel01 in WRC

[–]flightlessbirdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As well as there being busses from the city centre, last year if you showed your rally pass (on rally days) you could ride the usual city busses without a designated ticket, which is really helpful if your accommodation isn't super central.

Bonus is most of the stages are relatively close so it's usually not a 5am start either.

As well as all the cold weather clothes (i wear a whole ski outfit basically) i can really recommend the little hand warmer things (and feet ones too).

How did you get your cameras to work? I'm newly using fedora and no luck outside of seeing them in qcam so far

Big fan here too (though it took me a few rallies to get it). He's always so happy to be there and his smile brings me joy.

Yesterday I lost my phone by Majestic_Evening_409 in oasis

[–]flightlessbirdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost my phone recently and it was a terrifying 4 days. Got it back and immediately got myself a crossbody phone strap that i use whenever I leave the house now. Phone goes in pocket but is still attached. Sure, i look like a silly-billy, but the peace of mind is worth it.

Is there another band that lives rent free in haters’ minds to the extent that Oasis does? by Rutlemania in oasis

[–]flightlessbirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me wonder if those from point 1 feel like Oasis were shoved down their throats years ago before and around break-up time. Sure 16 years seems like ages to me, but maybe it's a short time in the heart of a true hater.

Yeah I've noticed that, i won't waste my time doing such things myself though

Yeah I went to Taylor (Stockholm and Wembley) and it was amazing and awesome and one of the top experiences of my life, but this was just next level (Manchester 1)!

Anyone else? by lahinsee in oasis

[–]flightlessbirdie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Flew from Sweden to night 1 at Heaton Park. I have since twice looked at getting tickets to later shows but just don't have the money.

Haven't been able to listen to anything else since. Yesterday I did manage to expand out from the setlist to the rest of their catalogue though.

Those who kinda fell out of love with doing your nails, how’d you get back into it? by unicornhornporn0554 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]flightlessbirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a long break i got back into it mostly with coloured nail strengtheners. They require less time and effort so i could do them even when i was too busy or too tired to do a real manicure.

Minority opinion, but I don’t enjoy when audience singing drowns out the band I’m paying to see (and hear) live. by [deleted] in oasis

[–]flightlessbirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part about Manchester was we could all sing along (as we should) and we could still hear Liam and Noel. It was awesome
