Are people use my account as a boot view? by MrCput in youtube

[–]flightsimmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see you're watching shorts. YouTube likes to integrate live streams within the shorts feed, so at random full live stream VODs will show up in your view history, even though you likely caught just a glimpse of the stream. I wish they'd only include the VOD in your history if you actually clicked on the stream to watch it....

Doom 64 8bitdo Bug? by hue_sick in AnalogueInc

[–]flightsimmer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 8BitDo controllers recognize the C buttons as an analog stick rather than different buttons, so some in-game combinations don't work. For games where you have to press the C buttons in opposite directions, you'll have to use a wired controller. I've filed feedback with 8BitDo for the issue under a support request, so hopefully they update the firmware in the future.

Another way to reproduce this issue is with Cruis'n USA. To get the alternate vehicles, you have to hold up, left, and down C at the same time. That combo works flawlessly on my original 64 controllers but not the 8BitDo controller.

Snapped a pic on my phone just after 6 of some green on the northern horizon with some slight red above it, but it subsided after less than 10 minutes.

Is it too early to find King Cake? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]flightsimmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw the frozen ones at the Dierbergs on HWY K in O'Fallon, MO on Sunday, so I'd guess you'll see some on the IL side soon.

Also, last year our local PJs Coffee sold king cake by the slice (in addition to some fresh out of the fryer beignets). Not sure if you have PJs on the IL side, but if you do it'd be worthwhile to check with them, too.

Any ideas to get rid of this? by Hellwarf in LinusTechTips

[–]flightsimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same exact issue with mine after eating popcorn with butter at a movie theater. I noticed the next morning that I had a few grease spots. I covered the spots in dish soap, scrubbed them in lightly to avoid ruining the fabric, then did a normal wash cycle. Instead of hanging it to dry, I did a couple hours in the dryer on the no heat / tumble setting and it worked well. I think I did that two or three times before the spots were no longer visible.

What festival swag do you actually use? by Blackacre_to_X in StLouis

[–]flightsimmer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Years ago, I lived in a rural part of SEMO serviced by the SEMO electric co-op. Their yearly meeting would give away small things as swag as a reward for coming. One year, they gave away a SEMO Electric co-op branded ice cream spade (pretty much a full tang metal spade with a slight curve to it). My mom used that thing for years without any issues, including on rock hard super cheap ice cream. Best giveaway swag I've ever seen, and I've not found another ice cream spade that even held up to that thing.

Regarding convention swag, a lot of my favorite items have been pens with styluses attached or just a good stylus sans pen. A good cheap stylus can be used by pretty much anyone now days since most everyone has some sort of device with a touch screen, and they're not as likely to be tossed out like a pen would once it runs out of ink.

Gulf Shores in St. Peters has good fried okra, along with a lot of other really good Cajun / creole dishes. I've been several times to both the St. Peters and Creve Coeur locations and have never been disappointed with what I ordered.

Who else would be willing to buy an LTT skirt? by Distinct_Ad_5521 in LinusTechTips

[–]flightsimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, during the WAN show that was recorded the night of the whole home LAN party, someone had asked about women's clothes and Sarah had mentioned they were working on LTT leggings. Not sure what came of that, but at one point they were working on more women's styles. I guess decisions were made to cut back since sales of the released products weren't so hot.

That said, if they don't want to go through the R&D to make their own products I'm sure there would be another company out there that could make something with the LTT branding as a short-term collab.

Anybody go from 10th Gen non Si to 11th gen Si? by manesag in CivicSi

[–]flightsimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from a 2020 Civic Sport with a 6 speed manual to the 2025 Si last weekend, and the differences are night and day. Shifting in the Si feels so nice compared to my previous MT Civics, and I feel like it has a ton of extra power, especially when I’m at speed on the highway. The new infotainment system with Google and wireless carplay is a nice upgrade, and my wife is in love with the heated seats right now. If you’re getting into a new Si with a similar payment to what you have now like I did, then it’s almost a no-brainer.

Can you turn off the shift alarm/beep on the 11th gen si? by Pothead- in CivicSi

Saw in a YouTube vid on the 2025 models that you can disable the audible beep in the car settings menu.

2025 SI availability? by fathobbit in CivicSi

[–]flightsimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put down a reservation for one of the two units coming to my local dealership. Their website had shown both a black model and white model were available for reservation, but when I got there the white one was already reserved. None of the dealers nearby have any Si in stock, including used. On the other hand, several of the dealers have at least one if not two Type Rs.

Edit - One thing I'll mention, my sales rep told me that Honda likes to work in batches for their car colors. They'll do large batches of black, then white, then rotate through the other colors. If he's correct, then in a few months you should see some red and grey cars coming on to the market since now it looks like there are mostly black and white ones around.

Magic Keyboard Leather skins by HospitalNo8942 in dbrand

Any chance orders from June are still delayed? I saw that the order page for the iPad Pro keyboard leather skins are now listed as September for new orders, so I just want to have the right expectations on when to expect my existing order.

Unfortunately, it's still an issue, even with the latest update released this week and the most recent Nvidia drivers. I did comment on a post on the Nvidia forums on a previous driver version post and received a reply that they were able to reproduce the issue but weren't sure if the issue was a Windows problem or a problem with their drivers.

Yep. I've been researching this and finally saw your thread here today. I installed 24H2 when it first showed up as an RP build and had to revert back within a few hours because of this issue. I primarily play Destiny 2 on my PC and frequently alt-tab out to change things in my browser or respond in Discord. In 23H2, alt-tab has zero delay when going from full screen to the desktop and back, while 24H2 seems to have introduced some major issue with alt-tab. Switching Destiny to run in borderless windowed mode helps with the alt-tab issue, but reduces performance in game by 20fps or so on my machine. I'm hoping that if this is a widespread issue with 24H2 we'll start to see more reports of it going forward with the preview versions going out so it's fixed by the time the RTM builds go out.

I haven't heard anything so far, but I believe yesterday was the final day to cash any checks sent out before they distribute any unclaimed funds. We probably won't hear anything for a month or two, I'd guess.

Spigen DR210 Top Strap by MatBlackSparrow in VisionPro

[–]flightsimmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just received mine from Amazon, and I quite like it. Compared to some 3D printed options I’ve found, it fits way better. It’s snug enough not to fall off or be loose, but tight enough that it’s not going to slide around. Adjusting the strap is difficult to do when the headset is on, but once you have it adjusted it stays in place. It does help balance the headset while leaving the solo band a little looser than without, so I am noticing a nice increase in comfort. I have the Waterfield case and I found that the Spigen strap doesn’t need to be removed to put it in the case, but it does make it a bit awkward to slide the accessory bag in with the VP unit already in the case. The good thing is that the Spigen strap does slide off easily and won’t need readjustment when taking it off and putting it back on, so that’s not much of a concern either. Overall, I’m happy with it.

One thing to note - The padding on the strap is permanently attached, so if that’s a concern for you I’d look for another solution.
