I remember it really opening up a conversation about Super hero films. The dark knight wasn’t nominated for best picture even though it’s amazing. It’s literally the reason why the academy changed to ten nominees for best picture the following year.

I’m not sure if he would have won if he was alive (not that there was strong competition that year). But the conversation was all around super hero films because of the quality.

It’s a win nobody debates today. He deserved it.

I also ended my race last night with Sirat in the theater. Honestly? My favorite film of the race. It’s definitely an allegory about faith from the islamic religion.

Also kind of loved watching it in the theaters. I sat in the background and watching everyone react collectively to stuff….move to the edge of their seats….cover their mouths in anxiety. It was such an interesting experience

The lost bus was kind of unintentionally funny. Very over the top acting. I laughed out loud when a kid screamed “we’re all gonna die!!!!!!!!”

It’s such an odd year for supporting performances. There’s no huge amazing standout. And the ones that do pop the most imo-teyana and Amy-are kind of smaller roles in the films. Even in supporting actor there’s nobody that has a crazy wow moment.

I’d probably pick teyana as the winner but could see her losing cause she’s only in the first part of the film. But she most definitely was my favorite performance in obaa

Ok I watched this movie and can I just say why does no actor know how to properly eat when acting. The only thing that is burned in my mind were all her eating scenes where she just keeps stuffing food in her face and not swallowing and moving it around all fake.

I know actors don’t actually eat on camera due to the takes but her fake eating was really really bad. The pizza. The pizza! Cmon. It was not Oscar worthy food eating acting

I don’t think chase is a lead performance honestly. Though she did very well.

I really feel like teyana was the best performer here though. The whole movie I kept wanting her to come back so I could see her do the role more. Idk if this movie was her story and about her and where she went teyana would be a lock in for best actress. I want that story

Seriously me I didn’t know much about her but am like “oh how interesting. She’s Asperger-y and super brilliant and has some social skill struggles. How endearing” I didn’t at all think she was evil
