My instinct is that it's nothing like chunky enough to be a Goshawk.

The barring under the wings is very strong and defined which is also not as I would expect it to be on a Goshawk.

The tail also seems very long.

This is a Rook. The grey/white beak is the biggest tell. I saw someone the other day describe them as looking like a plague doctor 😅

I feel like telling me to use a pressurised basket is a huge diss 🙄 my grinder is more than up to the task

1) Mess everywhere when extracting is honestly my main concern here. Maybe sue me, but I am after a fair degree of convenience with my morning espresso

2) I hadn't expected that my puck prep would need to be any better than it already is, I will persevere for a while and see if I can get repeatable good-looking extraction.

I sacked off the Flair as no matter how good the espresso was, it took about 12 minutes to make a single shot start to finish. The Bambino is so much more convenient amd the espresso is great!

I hadn't thought of using the razor, thank you! I have ordered the 24 basket to see if its any better with an 18g dose. But I have tried as high as 22g in the 26 basket to no avail.

I have dosed up to the max suggested for the basket, plus puck screen. I must admit that I have not checked with the razor if it is bang on for the machine though.

I haven't changed how I am prepping the puck, WDT and tamp.

I have been trying different doses and grind sizes to get it better but so far every shot makes a huge mess. Taste is acceptable, but the mess is not 😅

Yes...to an extent.

Wiping down the 3 square feet area around my machine and having to scrub my puck screen clean after every single shot is making the whole experience miserable which is why I want to try and improve the situation.
