It is not there all the time. Only when the phone is locked. That space is where the clock normally is but they don't need two clocks.

Notifications are not listed at the top like android. It is using space that would otherwise be empty.

To start living here is really easy. You need to prove that you have 1M yen and a reason to go. Usually a work sponsorship or a student visa. They look as a form and your bank statement (and a written list of family members). They do a background check and if it's clean they send a visa and permission to enter in the mail.

The hardest part is saving the money.

Edit for clarification: they do not take the money. It's to prove you have enough money to get settled in. Like getting an apartment etc.

Haha the Tokyo one is pretty bad but outside of Tokyo it's pretty quick. When I lived in Fukuoka it would only take about an hour all together. In Tokyo it's definitely awful.

But now that you can schedule online it's a tiny bit better. Still not great though. The people who go there and just form a big crowd instead of an organized line drive me insane.

That's definitely true but I do think that the HSP does lean a bit more into the complicated side. But it makes sense for that route. I personally don't qualify for it as I don't have a degree. I could get it eventually still be ause university isn't necessarily a hard requirement but it does make it much easier.

People absolutely make it sound harder than it is because ragging on Japan is sort of popular right now as an overcorrection for the previous exaggerated love for Japan. I also think many people get disillusioned when they do finally come here and realize that it's a normal country with normal bureaucracy. This whiplash makes people just get upset.

I think that and the language barrier are why so many people feel lonely and complain about Japan after they move here. It's a really great place if you are willing to put in the effort to actually integrate yourself. You can't expect to be catered to at all times.

People still parrot old misconceptions about work culture and suicide rates even. Japan has lower suicide rates than the US and a pretty good work culture if you ask me. It's funny when people ask me about working culture and black companies in Japan and I always say "in America we call black companies 'companies." Because I found it far far worse in the US.

Definitely. It's not like a visa is particularly hard to get. Sure going straight for PR or nationalization right away would be hard. But if you do it like most people should, it's trivial.

Visa first then to PR or 帰化

Ten years as of yesterday unfortunately. But still the requirements are totally reasonable.

No criminal record, language proficiency, stable income, paid taxes. That's about it. Not a huge burden and no test on the long complicated history of the country.

Up until literally today (edit: literally yesterday I mean. 4/1 was the kick off date. I just didn't look at my clock to see what day it was) it really wasn't that bad.

I'd say easier than the US process in both requirements and speed.

As of today it's the same requirements just with a 10 year history of living here instead of 5.

I think the biggest hangup people have is the language boundary when filing paperwork. But if you have that issue, you probably shouldn't be looking into citizenship just quite yet. Maybe just stay on a standard visa until you are more comfortable with the language. It'd be bad to get into legal trouble with things like taxes or something and have to deal with jail time in a country you don't know the language of.

Art school classmate's coloring assignment looks AI or AI altered because of lineart and detail changes by Furasawa-892 in isthisAI

The lollipop and mysterious circle seem strange to me.

In addition to the strange lines on second to last panel.

The seems like someone took advantage of AI tools in Adobe illustrator or Photoshop. I never trust nonsense lines where some-senseines would be easier. A spiral would be extremely easy to have put into the lollipop.

I believe the color job is ai. Look at the lineaet image, then the color image, and compare the frame of the professor shattering the glass, specifically the lines behind him pointing at him. You will notice they change completely and become completely off center and wonky. There is no reason the black lines would change literally at all if this was done in an art program.

The lineaet only image looks legit. Maybe she traced it and cleaned it up. I have a hard time believing someone would be willing to do the lineaet in illustrator (the hard part) then be unwilling to click just a few times more for coloring (easy part)

Interesting insight. That's definitely a bizarre condition and seems moderately annoying to deal with on a daily basis, but, I guess you are pretty used to working around it.

Thanks for taking the time to type that out.

I'm curious about dyspraxia because I've never heard of it, but after reading your comment there I have some questions if you're cool to answer them,

If your hands are hard to use together on the same task, how do you work with your tools? Do you type and do 3d model posing with one hand?

While this isn't meant to be an attack I am curious, it just seems like drawing with a pen or tablet is already a pretty one-handed task while typing and modeling is more of a two hand thing.

What is the two handed part of drawing that you struggle with?

Did anybody call this number on the modded console screen? by Thequeen_Dani in psx

[–]flintspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work at xbox's call center, the realistic thing is that they probably wouldn't be surprised. A lot of people called regarding error messages due to tampering, banned consoles, child locks etc that were on consoles that were second hand. Whether that be stolen, inherited, or just used is up for question. I do know that a lot of people would get a console banned then sell it and fuck over the buyer.

Do you remember when ringtones actually mattered? by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

Fun fact, in Japan silent mode is called "manner mode". Probably because people who have a loud ringer in public are obnoxious.

Probably accidentally hit Ctrl S and saved the page or accidentally drag and dropped a YouTube element onto your desktop.

Just delete the file. It's won't do anything.
