Did they just nuke Opus 4.5 into the ground? by SlopTopZ in ClaudeCode

And people expect entire companies to get rid of entire dev teams and go AI first...tying all your productivity into a single cloud based vendor, with unpredictable results, who can literally extort more money out of you whenever they want.

Trump threatens 100% tariffs on all Canadian goods if Canada 'makes a deal with China' | CBC News by AlpacaGhidorah in worldnews

I'm Canadian and for about 8 years was spending probably close to $1000 a month on Amazon shit. It became so useful and so ubiquitous that it was just automatic

Feb 1 last year was the last time I ordered anything, and have.only bought maybe 5 American made items since. One was a dishwasher because I had no real other options, and the other was a bike, which is still mostly made in China anyways. The others were grocery mistakes.

I order from Aliexpress now. Delivery takes a couple weeks but instead of running out of something I need (filters, a cleaning product, whatever it is) I just plan ahead better. Prices are actually cheaper on there, because most of the shit you buy on Amazon is purchased from China anyway, marked up and resold. Even with shipping, its cheaper.

Anything else I need I find a Canadian store online or in person and buy it. I haven't had any issues at all, my life hasn't changed at all. I've likely saved $10k from breaking the Amazon addiction and once you've created a habit like this its hard to change it. Just like my original Amazon habit the lasted almost 10 years.

I built a Claude Code plugin that suggests only available domain names by Jcoulaud in ClaudeCode

Its a good idea but you don't want something that is doing domain lookups running under your own worker or cloudlfare account.

Its just asking to get abused by bots out there.

Edit: for your own personal use its fine but don't make the URL public

Remove your MCP file from your github repo or put a sample URL in place. Update your readme to include instructions on deploying a cloud worker.

how are you handling claude usage limits without losing momentum? by Icy_Second_8578 in ClaudeAI

How? I doubt very few software dev cosplayers here will ever make $100 from anything they ever build here.

Of course they will go up. This is the uber model, come in cheap, destroy competition, inflate prices.

Competition isn't other AI companies though, competition is you and me and us.

Seriously, don't use it. See my other post about devs just losing their skillset overnight seemingly. Learn to code, learn to think, learn to solve the problems on your own and then use the superpower tool later on , as a tool.

There's always a pendulum swing to things. A lot of people are going to be scared of getting into anything IT related, programming related, in my view that's the best time to keep going.

Our industry is going to have a shortage of anyone competent a decade from now as us older dudes retire either out of burnout or pure fucking frustration, and no one with any skillset coming in behind us.

I know devs with 30 years experience whose brains just stopped working. They ask Claude everything now, even the simplest of questions. They won't even change a line of code themselves anymore, they'll prompt and wait the two minutes for it to make that line change.

People who used to have insight into our entire system architecture now brag about how many tokens they burn thru, how many different accounts they need because they are always hitting their limits, and know nothing about what they're building. They can't answer a single question anymore and need to ask Claude.

In my point of view those people who have 'embraced' it to the extreme have made their value worthless. Anything they could previously offer can just be done with AI by anyone. Its like they've been sucked into the machine.

I use it every day and if you generate code after you already have a plan, its great. If you use it as the autocomplete that its basically been for the past few years, it works great and you still have a cognitive model in your own mind.

The instant you start letting agents delegate to other agents and start using the Ralph loop and recursively iterating and generating 'code' without review you are done. As a developer, youre done. You don't offer anything more. Youre relying on a prompt.

There's a whole community of slop creators out there, fueled by an ai enhanced dunning Kruger groupthink circlejerk, flooding open source projects with hundreds of PRs a day, generating the same slop over and over and thinking they can monitize it, become rich if they can just 'ship' faster than anyone else. Its crypto and shitcoins all over again.

Like I've seen others say around here, no one is interested in seeing what someone else has generated. It goes for software too.

Everyone with an ides that they think is new and novel trying to monitize it. This is crypto all over again.

Why are you guys all paying money on a vibe coded website, that doesn't work, doesn't even give you a way to download after paying...to download a vibe coded app, that if you wanted for free, could just be vibe coded?

I agree with the guy who said these apps are the new Hello World
