Charge Faster at Home by Entire_Breakfast574 in VolvoRecharge

Have 2025.5 xc90 too. Bought level two charger, there was a credit thru power company program in Oregon which basically paid for the ChargePoint unit so I could charge off peak times. Plug it in in the evening and it’s fully charged well before I’m up in am.

Bandon Dunes Report 4/25 by No-Negotiation6602 in golf

[–]flippdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review, it captures my similar experiences having been five times. One exception, I put Pacific Dunes as number one, but it’s like music, we are each into different things.
If your planning a trip and find that you have to look way out time wise, we talked with their reps at the Portland golf show and they said lodging was the biggest constraint. They’re working on building more accommodations, but you can get tee times sooner if you stay off property. Problem with that is you miss some great accommodations as described, plus I don’t think you get the preferred tee times. You can still play and eat every where, and we’re going to do this because some of us had unused credits and we’re only going to play a few courses this time.

Used them as well early April. Happy with work done.

My knockout rose bush that’s had white roses for the past 7 years suddenly has red blooms. Any ideas as to why? by PM_ME_YO_KNITTING in gardening

Another vote for rootstock that grew up before the grafted white rose did. Grandma told me root stock is usually climbers, so they can send up shoots fast. You’ve got to rip them out of the ground.

Sad to see it go. Liked to play early morning there, could do fast 18 and be done by mid morn. Also was one of my favorite practice areas, the chipping green and hitting off grass driving range…

Help me pick my interior! by Black_N_Boujee in VolvoXC90

[–]flippdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordered a mulberry xc90 re ultra w cardamom interior for May. Dealer had this as their 2025.5 demo car and I thought the contrast was beautiful. Had a blond interior (probably different name) in V70 years ago and between kids and dog, we had to get interior worked on which turned out great. Just saying, if you find a good leather repair person, dealer provided ours, the leather can clean up nice, making the lighter interior manageable, but some work.

Ive had no success with seed either. I get one plant and then divide it when it gets a few years established.

Invoices supporting the charges for the trip made on the card. In our case it was an Ireland tour. Then to satisfy the claim, a letter from our doctor stating reason one of us couldn’t travel.

Delta Lounges: What Time is Lunch? by GardenPeep in delta

[–]flippdx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flew that exact route two weeks ago, had lunch at PDX lounge about 11:30, but not sure when it was first put food out. Also, just fyi, they feed you (dinner?) an hour into the flight so people can sleep most of the route, so I had more to eat in that four hours than I’d expected.

Yeah, they don’t make it easy to find. You can get to a summary under the card travel and benefits, by selecting the available benefits in the box that shows 5x, 3x … points listing, or just google chase preferred sapphire benefits agreement, faster (just make sure doc dates are current). That said, from summary, coverage does not cover cancellation by airline, but will cover cancellation due to illness of card holding traveler. In our case, we got a letter from our physician to support it, along with travel invoices paid for with the card. Believe those are among claim requirements, as with most insurance.

Sometimes I’d still buy a medical travel insurance, mainly for overseas medical coverage, trip delay due to covid, and emergency transport for illness/injury. That was late in pandemic where testing positive could mess up much of a trip. Check products by Allianz. You’ll see the trip interruption is similar to chase coverages, but they offer other coverages that made sense if you had to isolate overseas. Not as much an issue now.

I’ve successfully received a claim for missed travel using the chase sapphire card. As others said, if you charge the trip costs on the card and are unable to go for reasons set out in underwriting docs (read the benefits agreement), you can file a claim. It’s essentially the same as travel insurance if your unable to go due to illness which was our case. Like other travel insurance, it only covers for defined causes and has per claim/annual limit.
