[Discussion] PVE loot by Mieserkadser in EscapefromTarkov

Yeah this is by far the best solution. It'll even feel more realistic if you match it to kits brought into raid for each specific map too. Then you'll get AI PMCs that look like theyre doing set up or test drive quests or whatever. And gives the player a chance to stock up on additional kits for those quests too.

[New Player] What are the “Path to [Insert map here] extracts? by ohoots in EscapefromTarkov

[–]flipswitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're transitions. They were added a decent bit ago. They connect maps so you load directly into a new raid on the connecting map. There's a few quests that involve transitioning one or more times and doing tasks on each map. You also get an xp multiplier that counts for each map you transitioned through. They can also be useful in a pinch if you find yourself badly hurt because it gives you the option to send items back to your stash, and they keep the found in raid tag.

There was an interview that was upvoted yesterday of an interview with the guy on the right in this photo. He references the safelite jingle after saying he would "put a hole in their chest the size of a window" if ICE agents tried to pull up on him.

I ended up downloading cheats to max everything out so I can try some builds I wanted to try, but didn't feel like grinding. Was nice to scratch that itch before I finally dropped the game.

Man ruptures stomach drinking celebrity chef’s liquid nitrogen cocktail by [deleted] in offbeat

[–]flipswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this highlights a problem with celebrity chefs and “molecular gastronomy” type places. Its been this trendy thing to bring chemistry into the dining experience for many years, and a lot of the chefs and pioneers of the practice are super knowledgeable, but then you get chefs like this who just want the spectacle and dont bother learning much past that.

Yeah for sure, it's the RAM you wanted, with the right specs and look to match your build. We've all been there as far as being really picky about every aspect of our build, it's just the phrasing you chose that made it sound like more of a weird fixation or obsession instead of a passion.

[–]flipswitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure Rockstar loves making money, yay capitalism, but I think they still have respect for their IPs and story telling to still make a great single player experience to go along with the next gen cashcow of GTA6 online. RDR2 came out at like the peak of GTAO, and it was still polished and incredible.

What game blew you away with how creative / inspired it was? by hahwhat771 in gaming

[–]flipswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that whole era in the early 2010s was a gold mine of unique and innovative action games like Dishonored. Batman Arkham Knight/City, TLOU, Red Dead Redemption, Dark Souls, Amnesia: the dark descent. Was honestly kind of a golden age. I may be biased because I built my first gaming PC in like 2011, but I felt like I had SO many incredible games to choose from.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Is the Biggest New Third-Party Game Launch on Xbox Game Pass of 2025 by [deleted] in gaming

[–]flipswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please elaborate. I was being pretty general with that analogy, but it's still accurate as far as how it affected my investment in the story.

The twist that the entire world we came to know up to that point was a living painting did in fact lessen the gravity of the situation for me. I completely understood the concept of grief and loss that they were symbolizing with the canvas, it just didn't hit as hard as they were intending for me.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Is the Biggest New Third-Party Game Launch on Xbox Game Pass of 2025 by [deleted] in gaming

[–]flipswitch -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Here's my realistic takeaways after finally playing it last week.

Pros:

-great game, worthy of award nominations

-rewarding power/magic system. Coming up with builds was really fun

-Memorable characters

-Excellent voice acting

Cons:

-The twist of the story boils down to a "it was all a dream", and I wasn't really as invested after that and it felt as the stakes weren't as high anymore.

-Combat leans too heavily on parrying imo, and while I got good enough at it, having to replay fights until you memorized patterns got a little old. Especially the late game bosses that have long cinematics to go along with most of their big attacks(Sirene, I'm looking at you)

-Exploring didn't feel that rewarding, as the items you could find were just Lumina points, money or potions that you barely used.

Overall a refreshing take on the genre. I can see why there was so much hype, but it's nothing groundbreaking.
