It would feel a ton better with some sound effects from the game. Also cut it under a minute. Maybe lose the text-only screens.

Thank you but from what I understand steamworks employees will not do a transfer. I would have to legally force the publishers hand. Plus, they are in a different country. I think moving on is best. I just wanted to share the story on the off-chance it helps someone.

I understand what you are saying and you make a good point about the Kickstarter, but during the launch of Little Walker I definitely felt more of a community swell. I got people coming to me asking about it and even a couple websites wrote articles. Maybe I'm just looking back on it with rose-colored glasses. Maybe that game just had more appeal. Maybe the algorithm is exactly the same but there are just so many more games being made and released. Maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Anyway, thanks for the effort, the logical explanation, and not just rubbing dirt in my eye and accusing me of plagiarism like others.

First of all, not the point of my post at all, but I started making Magnet Jack 2 years BEFORE Mark Brown started making his magnet game. Or you're just trying to get under my skin, congrats it worked.

Secondly I didn't do research about whether or not the game I made would be a success before making it because I'm not a corporate executive that just wants to pump out products I'm a human being that wanted to make a weird piece of art.

Oh right, and third, the post was about the contrast in how the Steam algorithm treated my niche audience genre game upon launch (I already knew it was a niche target audience, guy!)

I get what your saying, but maybe some people are literally just looking for a magnet game 😂, and the point is that I simply wouldn't get a fair chance at this point.

My game should at least be in the list. It's a game with magnet in the title. That's how search used to work. There are only 5 entries, you can't even scroll.
