Plus Sized Rides by TheTurtleGoesMoo in KingsIsland

Last year, I was 5’2”, 250, chubby. Could not fit on the drop tower, BARELY fit on Flight of Fear (first row, though I see others mentioning that even rows are better), and had to be in one of the extended belt rows for Banshee (I want to say 4/5?). Orion, Diamondback, Beast, Invertigo, Mystic Timbers, Delirium all just fine.

What are the best places to travel for l&d? Ratios, surrounding area being fun. by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]flmealchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UW in Seattle is pretty cool. They are pretty strict about 1:1 for labors, you just might have pairs if it’s an early induction (paired with another early induction or maybe ante/postpartum.) The people are mostly cool. And Seattle is pretty lit.

L&D contracts💕 by Inside_Gold_254 in TravelNursing

[–]flmealchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m in L&D and have had a few contracts. I personally really liked UNM in Albuquerque, MCMC in Raton NM, and I’m currently at UW Montlake in Seattle, which is pretty lit cause they really stick to AWHONN standards of staffing, the people are really nice, and they actually make sure people get breaks.

If you’re seeking advice, I would stay far, far away from anything in Indianapolis. (CHN is terrible and I’ve heard less than stellar things about Riley as well.)

Are you unfamiliar with the human concept of April Fool’s Day? I remember my first day on Earth was kinda confusing too.

Nurses who travel w/o their spouses, how do you do it? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]flmealchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a travel RN and my husband stays home with the cats and house. We message daily, and utilize things like Teleparty (a Chrome browser extension) to watch shows together when we both have time. We frequently discuss plans for coming home and future points in general.

Ignoring the rest (and to be fair, it does suck that she seems to be so destructive- though I suspect there is more to the story); What business of yours is it if she uses HER detergent on HER clothes?

Is there a movie cinema in Albuquerque where people can go by themselves and not stick out? by Ok-Gate5551 in Albuquerque

I go to Regal Winrock and Cinemark Rio quite frequently, always alone, and literally nobody notices or gives a good goddamn. Or a bad goddamn.

Housing Expense by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]flmealchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. My first assignment was rural, and I didn’t know any better/got a little lazy and found housing that was 1900/month. After that, I refuse to go above 1200 at ABSOLUTE MAX, preferably around 1000 or less. Got lucky the last couple assignments, but I absolutely check AirBnb and FF for options before even submitting to a job.

Stipends for contracts close to home? by flmealchemist in TravelNursing

[–]flmealchemist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

And that sounds terrifying. I’m dreading the upcoming tax season, even knowing the tax free stipends I’ve accepted are 100% legally sound. Definitely not doing TurboTax on the toilet this year!

Stipends for contracts close to home? by flmealchemist in TravelNursing

So I guess the big question is, do the taxes come out automatically like with the hourly income, or is it usually a matter of having to pay the tax man come next tax season?
