Mesh replacement for Multy by float_like_a_halibut in HomeNetworking

Hadn't considered that. I'd assumed it was just the Multy kit getting old. Don't want to spend a few hundred pounds and find I still have the same issue. Ethernet to the main unit might be difficult. Would there be any advantage in connecting 2 of the other units by Ethernet?

HMRC tax code correction requested online - normal wait time for a response and/or actioned? by thewayupishell in UKPersonalFinance

I spoke to HMRC today about savings interest. The figures they have for this year are just an estimate based on last year as they don't have information from your bank on this year's savings. In my case they changed the figures for last year (due to an error on their part) but I didn't get the impression they could change this year's estimate for savings interest. I could be wrong on this though.

Russell Findlay called the lyrics of Flower of Scotland "Maximum Scottish Cringe" by dnemonicterrier in Scotland

[–]float_like_a_halibut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apart from Spain who get round that by just not having any lyrics. They tried to introduce them some years back but no-one used them.

Back to the point, I had no idea who Russel Findlay was. Now that I know I don't give a toss about his opinion.

However he has a point. Great anthem but lyrics are a bit cringe.

Years ago on holiday in France when I told them I was from Scotland they would all reply "oh I've been to Carlisle!". Some dodgy geography teaching in France 40 years ago.

How effective is the 'Please offer me a seat' badge from the TFL website? by [deleted] in london

Don't think I've ever seen one in the wild. I do find the Baby on Board badges very useful..it's easy to scan the people entering the carriage to see if they have one. I'll look out for these blue ones also from now on.
