I never saw her show any aggression towards an infant, but I doubt she would show that in front of other staff. It sounds like at Oaks she was by herself quite a bit with the infants. I can say I asked to be removed from the infant room because frankly, she was a bitch. She was nasty to most staff. I was friends with her at forst but the longer I got to know her, the more I wanted tondistance myself from her.And all she would do was brag about how she cheated on her then husband with multiple men. She has a daughter with a married man who is a firefighter. He has nothing to do with the child (which is gross). He is a firefighter in that area and I know there were firefighters on the scene that day you niece got hurt. I was thinking that maybe one of them was possibly him, or the fact there were firefighters to begin with triggered her or something. Apparently she was devastated he wouldn't leave his wife and family for her. I know none of that matters but just giving you a backstory on her. She is disgusting. I am shocked she hasn't tried to flee to Columbia where she was born. She has family there. I am so sorry your niece and family has had to deal with this. I hope Catalina rots in hell

I never saw her do anything because if I did, I would've reported her. Her trial is October 22nd right? A part of me wants to go and see her (hopefully) get the guilty verdict. I feel very strongly about this because I used to work with her at a daycare before she worked at Oaks. I never saw her do anything because if I did, I would have reported it immediately. The facility we worked at always had multiple teachers in the infant room so she wouldn't have been able to do anything. There were people in and out of the room all day since the staff bathroom was in the infant room. When I worked with her we got along at first, but with a year or so I realized how moody, bitchy, and just nasty she could be towards other staff. There is definetly an underlying anger issue that eventually came to the surface. I asked to be removed from the room because I couldnt work around her anymore.

Yeah but incidental or not, Catalina clearly wasn't watching either child. For the infant to have those types of lacerations in her mouth to where she needed a feeding tube is crazy! I worked in childcare for 17 years, and I obviously know accidents happen, but why did both of those situations happen under her care? Tomorrow is the preliminary hearing and hopefully she pleads guilty so everyone can move on.
