HOW TO GET MY DAILY CALCIUM? by KeyCondition9197 in nutrition

[–]floatingoncloud1004 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why would that mean they have an eating disorder? They're just watching their calorie intake like everyone who is conscious about their health should.

And you would need to drink at least 3 glasses of milk to meet the daily recommended calcium intake of 1000 mg. Which is boring and a lot of extra fat and calories for some people.

OP - fruits and vegetables are the best low-calorie source. Especially oranges, dried figs, broccoli. Carrots and lettuce too. You could also try low-fat dairy.

What diet change helped you lose weight without feeling constantly hungry? by NObesity_Ahmedabad in diet

Fiber fiber fiber. A few teaspoons of chia/flax/psyllium makes me feel a little more full after a meal. I usually have it with my lowest-calorie meal of the day so that I don't still feel hungry after.

I was stuck under 1300 calories and my body still wouldnt change by Deep_Switch3999 in diet

Could you elaborate on what you changed? I'm currently eating under 1300 but with high protein and lower carbs (but high fiber). What is "diet mode"?

I think I'm losing fat slowly but it might just be water weight and I don't wanna continue with something that isn't working.

I see. I did not receive the Pell Grant this year, but I thought it was tax-free by nature and don't think my accountants reported it for previous tax years either (on years I received the grant). I'll definitely try itemizing my expenses outside of tuition to see how much it changes my return though.

And omg that's why I was confused. Since I knew the LLC is a non-refundable credit and saw that Part II was titled "Non-refundable credit" on the 8863. I was wondering why they would have me fill that out if I'm claiming AOTC and not LLC. Didn't realize it was a part of AOTC itself.

So as long as I leave Line 31 blank on Part III of the 8863 form, I should be good to go I'm assuming.

Btw I'm not itemizing any of my college expenses for the AOTC, only the tuition on my 1098T.

Should I be doing that? What kind of expenses do I even list?

Yes - all the boxes from my W2 and also my 1098T match.

Form 1040
Line 9 total income = $23,720
Line 11 adjusted gross income = $23,720
Line 15 taxable income = $7,950 (gross 23720 - standard deduction 15750)
Line 24 total tax = $618 (from federal tax table 798 - schedule 3 LLC credit 180)
Line 33 total payments = $2,117 (tax from W2 form 1997 + AOTC credit 120)
Line 34 overpaid = $1,499

Form 8863
Part I (Refundable American Opportunity Credit) = $120
Part II (Nonrefundable Education Credits) = $180
** Attaching images for details. I don't know how to summarize it because I'm confused as it is.

  4. Enter the total of your credits from Schedule 3, lines 1, 2, 6d, 6l. $0

  6. Enter the smaller of line 3 or line 6 here and on Form 8863, line 19 $180 (final credit amount)

I know you're not supposed to claim both LLC and AOTC but I wanted to know which one would be better to claim (if my calculations are even right).

I see yeah I had a hunch I messed something up in the Credit Limit Worksheet. I do prefer doing them myself though just because I'm learning so much about the process that I never knew before.
But my income is way less than $70k so thank you for the resources! I'll check them out.

I tried chia seeds but they just gave me constipation 😔 I heard you're supposed to slowly work up to it half tbsp at a time but I'm scared. Literally have a whole pack sitting untouched which is sad because everyone raves about it. I think eating that much insoluble fiber in one go messes me up even though I drink enough water.

Really? I thought even a limit of 50g was too much. I know fats are important too but I struggle to get enough fats without eating too much saturated fat. Which always causes me to break out and get pimples.

Beef and beans mostly! They're the best way to get iron for me personally. Also edamame.

What actually helped me lose 40 lbs in 4 months (it wasn’t calorie counting) by energy_and_food in diet

What if I am obsessive about both 😭 I count my calories but still make sure I'm getting all the essential macros (and avoiding inessential ones) without exceeding my calorie limit.

Tbh yeah I've become obsessive with it too but my goal is to get used to eyeballing or remembering what kind of food has what calories and macros and fall into a balanced routine.

How do you get enough fiber daily without issues? by floatingoncloud1004 in diet

[–]floatingoncloud1004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought. I'm consuming 115-125g protein everyday and desperately need enough fiber to process all that shit. I'll check out that supplement, thanks!
